Phisher 1 Posted March 7, 2002 I have had this game since release, too all you people that played near the beginning it was buggy, heh I thought I had it the worse. But now its at version 1.55 and it is like a completely different game, It does cost $10 dollars a month to play but it is worth it. The game is never ending, so it is very fun, I hope I don't sound like a fanboy, I remember when WW2Ol and OFP duked it out on the forums everyday. Trust me this game is very fun, Its not only blitzkrieg either, there going to be adding like the entire world later. I think Africa is next. If you can spend $10 a month or want to try out the trial, do it! It is well worth it!

Joe Porta 0 Posted March 7, 2002 I've been intrested in this game for ages so i might D/L the demo from fileplanet but its 108MB. I havent seen it on sale in the shops in the UK so it might just be a US release, which probably means all the servers are in the US so you might have a shit connection even with BroadBand. Let me know if i'm wrong.
Chan 1 Posted March 7, 2002 Only if they would build up the infantry side of the game, and more cover which will increase the temptation of flanking. This game sounds very exciting

madmike 0 Posted March 8, 2002 I know 54k connection will allow online gaming, its just lots of people have said flashpoint is unplayable. Also Ive tried seaching for good free online games and thet are either really shooddy or I have to subscribe. Theres one that has something to do with pirate ships( saw in a magazine) and there are massive towns to explore that have shops and pubs, you can also fight people, but I cant find it. Guest Posted March 8, 2002 DoD 2.0's ok. I played ALOT in it's release week and I play it now and again, but it's restrictive and boring and the variation is none-existant so I'm back to my daily dose of 3 hours a night of OFP co-op. FA makes me feel sick after about 5 minutes of play madmike: I play OFP co-op on a 28k modem and never have a problem with the lag. Server I play on is run by a friend in England so my ping is pretty good.

Guest Posted March 8, 2002 Nah, beta 0.25 was released just before the demo as the first press demo I find it hard to play DoD because I've played it for a long long time. Since about 2 days after beta 1.0's release
Guest Posted March 8, 2002 Yea was playing dod from the start, im kinda finding it hard to adjust, i like the 1st few months of dod beta 1 because of the fact u did not know all the maps spots and it was tense.
Axek/Axyl 2 Posted March 8, 2002 The servers for WWIIOL are in the US. I'm in Australia and normally play on a DSL connection, but when that's not working, I play on a dialup. The difference between the two is minimal, and it's very rare that I notice lag at all, even after playing for a few hours. I'd recommend trying out the free trial. Axek. the F word 0 Posted March 8, 2002 I played FA for about months before OFP came out, it was good change from TFC or CS, I liked the mortar system and the medics. Then when DoD came out last year, it was better than FA, but was missing things that would make it better, like adding a medic class or something. My main problem with FA are the maps, most of them are just point A to point B maps, with choke points in between, no way around them. So it was just get a choke point, plant a mortar flag, and toss grenades and camp. DoD wasn't as bad for choke points, seems like there was always one way to get around them. And now playing OFP for so long, I can't stand choke points in maps, I want to be able to run around and flank the enemy. DoD beta 2's maps are much better, but the Axis grenading is getting out of hand, especially on Avelanche (weak walls, powerful potato mashers). After playing so much outdoors warfare in OFP, it's a nice change to do some house to house fighting in DoD. Fword
madmike 0 Posted March 8, 2002 Sorry to change the subject, but if OFP is playable on a 28k modem then I might as well try it on a 56k. What do I need to do?
Black Op 0 Posted March 8, 2002 ofp is completely unplayable with 56k, the netcode is too crap. and its a very annoying game to play. the lack of a join mid game feature is far too annoying
Guest Posted March 9, 2002 madmike: All seeing eye is probally your best bet. Though I prefer to play with people I know so you get some sort of input into the missions you're playing. Placebos been running a great server for us this week, maybe if you ICQ him in the evening you can join one of our sessions. Black Op: yeah right, like I or anyone else should listern to anything you say after you wrote "OFP needs a new engine" on IRC
madmike 0 Posted March 9, 2002 Downloading it now. I have Sachels soundpack, can I play with these sound or do I have to play with the original sounds? If the original sounds, then I will have to reinstall flashpoint becuase I dont know what I did with them.
