32bit Windows 7

1GB Ram

Nvidia 8400GS

Intel Pentium D CPU 3.20GHz

and i will be getting another 2gig ram next thursday

and ArmA 2 Runs on 1gig but really badly like i mean all settings on very low and 75% resolution

Unfortunately, you really need a new machine. The RAM won't do much tbh, the video card is very weak as is the processor.

would i be sweet if i replaced my video card with a

Not really :(

You might be able to play on low/lowest settings but i wouldnt advise ruining your gameplay experience like this. Also the Intel Pentium D is just not enough.

Im afraid you need a new PC. For Arma2 something like this will do:

Any quadcore;hd4850+ or gtx250+ or 9800gtx+;2gb ram and a 500+ w psu

Guys don't even try to play the game on laptops, you'll encounter a shitload of lag, fps spikes and worse gameplay than on desktop... Even my 2 years old 900€ desktop is more powerful than your -2010 1.5-3k laptop .

look up that card here and you'll see how low it gets in the ranking. It's actually below minimum system requirements.

But you're going to need a new pc to be able to play arma 2 well because the processor is slow and extremely dated as well.

Playing arma 2 on an inexpensive machine is possible you'll just have to pick the right parts and get something a little more recent, pentium 4/D to core2 was a huge step forward. Core2 to core i was the next step, not quite the leap the pentium4 to core2 to was but still a good improvement.

Will a graphics card upgrade (GTX480) make this system run Arma 2/OA on full settings or are some processor/memory upgrades required too?

Current system:

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core 6000+ @3GHz

Graphics: 8800 GTS 640MB NVIDIA Geforce

RAM: 2GB OCZ 6400DDR2-800

OS: Windows 7 64

Mainboard: ASUS M3N72T Deluxe

Thanks.

You cant run arma on full settings on any computer. If you want to improve performance you'd be better off with a new processor.

well i can run arma 2 with 8400gs, intel pentium D CPU 3.2GHz, 1GB RAM

and get about 20-25 FPS on 75% resolution, im pretty sure i would be able to play it on 100% and med settings with 4gig ram

Well in that case I'd still get a slightly faster gpu, like an ati HD5670 or prefarably a 5750, lot faster not much more expensive.

I have this system-

Intel Core i5 CPU 750

ATI Radeon hd5770 series, 4GB Ram

It's just recommended PC for playing ARMA II, like bohemia interactive said...

I'm playing ARMA CO on the biggest details (all on maximum) and no lags.

That machine is well above what bohemia says are recommended specs. They recommend "any" quad core or a fast (2.8Ghz core2) dualcore, you have a 2.8Ghz core i series quad.

I'd hold off on ATI GPUs for a few weeks, the 6xxx series are very close now (Oct 19th for the first new cards) and even if you aren't planning on buying one, their release will drop the price of the 5xxx series.

4890 and phenom ii quad 955. Which one would benefit more to replace, and if it's the CPU, to what?

How well can the Asus G73JH with the Intel Core i5-450M run ARMA 2? I know the i7 version with 8 GB of ram will do it well, but I'm not sure about the i5 processor.

Specs:

Intel Core i5-450M 2.4 GHz

4 GB DDR3 SDRAM - 1333 MHz

1 GB GDDR5 SDRAM Ati Mobility HD 5870
