Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.

Recommended Posts

My system runs this game ok 20-60fps. (average 28-40fps in editor with lots of units in chernarus)

Res 1680x1050 3D res @ 1680x1050, AA off, AF normal

Everything normal except video mem and textures on high

Not much difference in fps with OC or not for CPU or graphics

It just needs optimization IMHO

In windows 7 64-bit its a little more clippy at times than XP

would I run this on an hdx16t with T9900 processor, 4 GB DDR2 RAM, and a GT 130M graphics card? I don't care if the details aren't exactly "pretty," so long as the gameplay functions decently.

How does the game run with i7 920@2,66 and hd4890 1gb?

Do i have to overclock i7 or is it enough?

It will run fine, but you'd be mad not to overclock those things, they have so much untapped potential.

Obviously of course, you'd want to make sure your cooler is up to scratch.

I'm thinking about buying the following upgrades for my system:

An Q9550.

And some OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 Fatal1ty

My MB is a Asus P5QL Pro.

My GPU is a 9800GTX+.

My PSU is a Corsair VX550W.

And the things I believe are the bottleneck of my system:

My CPU E4500

And some cheap Ram (3GB total) I borrowed after my old ones Died, think they're like 557MHZ or something...

So anyone got any thoughts about my choice of Hardware?

Hi everybody i am new here and i was just wondering if my computer would be able to run Arma 2 decently?

Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo Mobile @ 2.53 GHz

System memory : 6GB DDR2

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M/1GB GDDR3

I am looking to get the same computer again but with a quad core running at 2.0GHz each

Just as a reference my pc i just bought:

AMD Phenom II 955 X4 Quad @ 3.2Ghz

4GB Crucial DDR3 RAM

XFX Nvidia GTX 275 896mb

It runs ArmA2 maxed out at 1280*1024 with steady frames of 30-40 FPS... did have occasional 'stuttering' problems but then i fixed that by changing the Render Frames Ahead to 8.

Built for £600 from scratch if anyones interested, www.ebuyer.com

Hope it helps anyone as a benchmark :)

I thought there was a huge difference between 1280x1024 and 1920x1200? (1,310,720 pixels vs 2,304,000 pixels).

And you were not mistaken my friend :).

As far as I know there is no HW on the market able to handle 1080p or similar with high details.

I have q9550 @ 4ghz 4gb ram plus heavily oced 260gtx 216cores and I play all on normal plus AA on low to get smooth gameplay (in 1680x1050).

But I7 are 20% faster then q9xxx at same clock speed and same game parameters.

TBH you could type in those few words like 790gx amd x3 4gb 1066 and gfx of your choice instead of linking link to links...

My only advice is not to buy mobo with integrated GFX when you buy dedicated one - no point of spending twice on same thing.

I just upgraded to a Crosshair III, Black Ed. 955, 8 gigs of DDR 3 @ 1600 (winXP only recognises 3 gb atm, switching to Win 7 64bit in Oct) ) , and a BFG GTX rev. B card. Using the Samsung 2233RZ 120 hz monitor. Playing all settings on Highest, no AA/AF @ 1680x1050x32.

Gameplay is smooth and fast. I do get some jittering in the save game screen tho. The game really is a beautiful sight at this rez.

Hi all,

Just a quick question as to what kind of performance I can expect, and will I need to overclock?

Its very likely that someone has the same OS, CPU, Videocard and RAM as me, so maybe they can fill me in?

thx.

Edit: Monitor only supports 1280x1024, so that might be in my favour? I am hoping I can run with highish settings and AA on....

4GB DDR 2 800 Ram

Hi guys. Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if there's something I could do to get some better performance.

I get around 40-50 fps with only a few AI on the map, with more AI I'm getting around 22-23 fps. I thought it seemed like it was being held back by cpu?

Specs:

Vista 32 bit

4gig DDR2 ram (not entirely sure what ram exactly)

ATI 4770 HD 512 MB

AMD phenom II X4 940 black @ 3 ghz.

I feel like if anything it should be the graphics holding me back but it runs fine when there's less AI, (Doesn't make a difference if they are in sight or not). I'm using the "-winxp" trick as well for the ram.

Turning the graphics settings down doesn't make alot of difference. Any help would be much Appreciated!

-H
