Problems with Bulldozer

Recommended Posts

Hi , me and BWMod have recently had problems importing 3ds files into o2.

It all worked just fine until i tried out yesterday.

So what happens :

1. I import a 3ds file with uv mapping and modelling done in 3dsmax 2009 student edition.

In 3dsmax , everything looks fine ... as it always did and does.

2. I fix some minor mirroring and stuff like that.

3. I convert the textures , which all have the right resolutions/sizes/filetypes. I double and triplechecked that.

4. Now when i want to see the result in Bulldozer the model is good , but all the textures are completly distorted.

5. I check the o2 uv-editor if maybe the texture coordinates where not correctly imported. But nothing , everything seems to be allright.

I made an illustration to (haha) illustrate my problem.

I hope someone , maybe even from BIS can help us.

BTW : if i manually check the texture of a face via ctrl+b everything is fine.

PS: some additional info.

The model has about 4000 points and 3800 faces in o2.

There is one 2048*2048 _CO texture. (white alphachannel)

It's quite difficult to see what the details are from your image.

So, all those faces are mapped to the same _co texture through the 'Face properties' dialog I assume. Do you have a material file also associated? If so, what are it's text contents?

Do you have 1 UV Set in the Lod you are previewing?

If you wanna fire your model over I'll have a quick squizzy at it, or send it too one of your mates for a 2nd pair of eyes...

Thanks for you trying to help. I found the problem.

If texture coordinates (UV values) get to big there are problems with precission.

I found 2 oder 3 points waaaaaaaaaaaaaay outside the "first uv box ". Removing them solved the problem.

Guess i should write it into the BIKI if others encounter the problem.
