How to unpack locked addons

Hi,

I'm going to extract some good addons for study, unfortunately, some addons can't be unpacked even using tools (e.g. PBO decryptor, PBOTool, etc).

Is there any available tool which can unpack those locked addons?

I think you mean the .p3d files correct?

If so try installing this program, O2 oxygen light 2 to open the files.

O2_light.zip

and the

o2_viewer.zip

download and those should open those kinds of files.

I'm not sure of an unacker or extracter.

I got that problem lately, solved it with using Cpbo or ArmaUnpbo, don't remember exactly (anyway, with an Arma unpacker).

Some modders are packing ofp pbo with arma tools.

That's a bad idea to pack a pbo for OFP using ArmA tools.

If there are changes in the file header due to the ArmA format, it is possible that the internal OFP pbo reading engine may have to drain additional ressource trying to "decrypt" the new header.

A bit like when you use compressed PBO and uncompressed ones, with the compressed PBO taking more time for OFP to read.
