AI Animations CQB, when exiting Vehicles

Recommended Posts

I have two suggestion to make to improve AI "Look & Feel" so to speak...

A. AI should not run through cities/towns without taking constantly cover, once they are suspecting enemies/unidentified personell/vehicles inside that town.

The upcoming strategy title "Man of War" shows how it would be optimal hiw AI should take cover/be like.

Short Picture Series:

1. AI assume a enemy behind the House, so they take cover while advancing, leaning on the walls for a second

2. Commander of AI-Group shortly looks around the corner o get additional information if there is enemy and if yes, on those enemy strength/personall size.

3. AI group together sneaks around the corner and opens fire on the enemy.

This to see in Arma2 would be killer and as you already confirmed that Micro-AI will take cover, i think that could be a nice way of advancing/taking cover in urban environments....

Btw: The attack-part after staying in cover almost looks like on this pic:

However i think that this was not real ingame, rahter scripted/switchmove/playmove kind of stuff  tounge2.gif

2. Improve direct played animation after exiting a vehicle.

Currently in Arma1 and also in the USMC Teaser after a AI guy exits the UH1, AI is usually forced in the "Standing as Statue" animation after exiting the vehicle.

It would be nice if it could be set, that for instance depending on combat-mode/awareness, exiting/disembarking from a Vehicle forces AI in a different Animation.

So for example if they are aware of known enemy, even under fire/else they would exit from a Vehicles like Helicopter in "Crouch-Stance" to having a lower silhouette and be able to attack quicker/take cover quicker.

Best Regards, Christian

Well the new centimetre precision should help the A.I do the " takeing cover " "open fire on enemy " bit.

well I would really like to see the AI act like that mr. g-c, I think it would be awesome. Although the recent videos i have seen of the ArmA II AI have been looking a little more improved but nothing drastic, hopefully Im wrong.
