CZM beta releases

The public beta is finally here:

The beta includes different branches of the Philippine Army:

The Marines

Cause of lack of time, but on the other side I didnt want to exclude the army in the first release I made 3 soldiers of the 1st Tabak Division and one in the new Digital camo.

Philippine National Police (PNP)

I did also include one Pilot of the 206th Tactical Helicopter Squadron "Hornets"

Note that this only is a public beta and not the final.

The demo includes about 35 different soldiers in different loadouts.

Just saw that I forgot to mention HDlaeppli in the readme as I used parts of their SWM Ghillie Sniper. Sorry about that guys.

Wow! The Army and National Police look amazing. I'm very happy that you put together a good face pack as well.

The only nit pic...is that it seems you put ghillie suits on all the Marines from the pic? I'm going to check the pack out when I get home later, however I don't think they wear ghillie suits all the time (those things are really hot and uncomfortable).

Your models/face & equipment textures would also make a perfect base for Indonesian and Malaysian mods. But that's another topic.

I really hope to see the full Army pack developed with some good light armor as well. Even better however would be an OPFOR pack of Islamic or Marxist seperatist guerillas.

The face pack are based on VTE, so the credits go to them.

 If you look close at the pic you can see soldiers with and without west in the background. THe first soldiers marching are only the snipers and their spotters.

The army will off course see a bigger range of models. I just ran out of ideas and time to make them different. The Enemy pack is im work right now and the first 7 Models are finished. Could be taht when I release it that I will make an overhaul of the AFP forces too.

I'm always happy to see new and intersting mod's make releases in ArmA! I forgot to mention that the Cobra textures are also fantastic.

I don't remember, but did your mod ever release any islands? If not, are there any specific island maps that you recommend that look like the real life islands in conflict areas within the Philippines?

I have done any jungle missions in a long time and your mod's addon pack is perfect for some good jungle warfare.

I would also recommend that you ask Vilas if your mod can use his V-100 Commando armored vehicle.

Need to rework the Cobra as the textures arent correct aligned after that it will be released together with some Huyes. Im still looking for a C130 and F5. Didnt Lobo had a C130. Think I played with one once in your pack.

Sorry, we havent released any island yet, but I got 3 maps planned and partly started. There arent actually any jungle island yet which I would say fit a Philippine enviroment, but VTE island comes close to what I would say for now. Also the little village in the "Jungle" in the south of Porto is comming very close to some areas I know from my visits in the Philippines. I havent had time to test the new High Definition Tropical Island yet.

My plans are to work on the enemies now

but they are still wip.

Then an update of the troops will occur and the vehicles and island will be worked on at the same time. For the island I will need to make some new buidlings to get the perfect feeling.

I did ask Vilas already some time ago and he said he wanted to rework the V100 before I would decide. Need to contact him anyway as I would be interested some more things he did make.

But when you are interested in making jungle missions I will see that I contact you as soon as the island is in a playable status. Then it could be released with some missions too  biggrin_o.gif

Oh wow, the OPFOR is looking extremely nice. Very detailed, high quality work.

Yeah Vilas has been having alot of problems also recently with misunderstandings with mods that didn't realize they could not allow other mods/addon makers affiliated with them to use Vilas's MLOD's. He's a good guy though but he just gets stressed out easily so don't pressure him too much.

Yeah, we my mod has a C130. However it's not ours to give out unfortunately. PM me for more info regarding that.

The Philippine Military uses the M113 also correct? That would be a good all-purpose APC to give them... and probably better for jungle environments. An F-5 definitely would be nice for air support along with the Hueys and Cobras.

Yeah, definitely contact me as soon as one of the jungle island maps is playable and I'll start making a good mission or two for you. It takes me a long time to make a solid mission so I can't make more then two. But those I make will be good. Also I'm not sure if you're from the Philippines or not, but any voice recordings you can make for the troops (and/or OPFOR) would be great. I'd recommend using the script I used on my Taliban to make the OPFOR (assuming they are Islamic insurgents) yell "Allah'u Akbar!" when they fire RPG's and satchel charges. You will have to edit the voices however to remove the pashtun and other Arabic phrases.

However you can also use the same script for the Philippine military forces so that they yell stuff in the most common Philippino language (when they fire AT rockets, M203, or satchel charge).

I tested them out and overall, fantastic job!  A few guys had clipping issues with some of the gear (head sticking out of part of the caps on backwards and things like that), but it was very minor.   The main issue I have with them is that they while the MILFs (very amusing name given what those initials stand for in America) have a more or less comprehensive range of troops (many riflemen, machine gunner, RPG guy, grenadiers, sniper) the rest are missing these types of units.

Also missing from all of them are medic, engineer (IED specialist), and a squad leader.  A Squad leader could be differniated by having a small radio on his ammo harness (and be given binoculars).  

Aside from that, the new custom modelling is AMAZING!!!  I love the guy with the longer hair is very unique.  Also the 40mm M203 grenade bandalier looks extremely nice.  Good job also on the custom textures of the T-shirts and uniforms.

So overall these guys are great.  But with a few more units, they would all be lovely.  Most of the new units wouldn't need any new models...just some config work to add them in.

In the next release there will be more to choose from as the MILF has both regular units which are build up like an army and irrgular units. Im also working on some special characters as leaders. Sander made some fantastic looking textures for me so Im looking for ideas to increase the range of sword bearers to come close to 20.

Thanks, this should normally have been the leaser of the sword bearers, but I thought he looked to dull for that so I choose him as a normal character.

Thanks for your report. Next release will Im working on will be an upgraded version of the soldiers with special forces inculded this time and the vehicle pack.

Oh, one thing you might check, I remember seeing an rvmat error when playing as the MILF sniper. I didn't see the error when not playing that guy, so I'm guessing that its on the pilot LOD. You might test all the guys for that error by quickly testing each one with them being designated as "player".

Because of my work in CWR the progress for CZM has been slowed down but not halted.

I didnt had so much time with the new troops, but Im learning how to handle Visitor now.

The first Map will contain 3 islands/reefs of the Spratly's.
