Constructive criticism is good but ignorance wont get you very far.

The more people making addons for ARMA the better, keep up the goodwork guys. notworthy.gif

@messiah.

the uksf SFW doesnt use the M203 nor its diemaco version.

they use the HK AG-C /L17A1, which in basic is an railmounted ag36.

theres more than just the barrel different und brit SFW.

eg reinforced frontsight, old stock, and other things.

the flashider is the bog standart birdcage

and yea im still on track with them wink_o.gif

but of course, but the point about the Diemaco using its own version of the 203 still stands wink_o.gif - I wasn't using it purely in the context of UKSF

main visual differences, there are of course minor ones like you've listed, as well as things like the rubber pad on the back of the buttstock, etc smile_o.gif

Looking good chaps.

Any chance of getting catseyes on the helmets instead of/as an alternative to the cylumes? Haven't seen cylumes used that much at all, really.

Are you referring to any specific SAS get-up?

Counter-Terrorist kit, desert kit ala B2Z, DPM, civvy dress, or the Johnny's Special Forces style of operator?

Saying 'SAS' is quite a broad request, especially considering the nature and varied roles of the regiment. wink_o.gif

The mod in the past week or so has been experiencing lots of problems because of mod members moving on. We am sorry to say but due to a lack of a texturer and a config creator, We will be finishing up the Landrovers / WMIK's the infantry units and the weapons and releasing it to the public. If we do not get any texturers or config creators the mod will be put on hold indefinetly.

Regards

BFM Mod Team

Wow, that theif guy 'Rambo' lasted longer.

Such a shame that you honest, decent add-on makers are bound by the problems you face. I hope someone steps in to help you soon.

Good luck.

Thanks for your support but the problem is i am only a moddeler and can't texture or config and i need to learn this. To do so i would have to take time from moddeling due to studying for exams and learning both these things. It would be alot easier for me to get someone else to do these things for me untill i have sufficent time to learn both. So the mod will be put on hold indefintly for this period.

I don't think more photos of kit is going to really help him much.

The concept behind a basic unwrap and texture paint isn't too hard, and

one you've done just one then it becomes much easier (though no less

tedious - UV mapping can be a real drag, I've found).

It can appear intimidating, though, if you worry too much about trying to

understand some of the technobabble thrown around in the "stuff you

are working on" thread, for example. For your very first addons I'd advise

just ignoring all that stuff and ploughing ahead with a basic UV unwrap.

Choose one of your small arms (has anyone actually released a good

SA80 rifle yet?) or something similar that you can get finished reasonably

quickly and that you'll be chuffed with once you see it in game.

You can always go back and refine it sometime later if you feel the need.

Consult this thread for information on how to use the UV mapper tool in Oxygen.

If I can get it to work then anyone can. Use this thread to post

WIP pics and ask for help. There's plenty of people on here who are more

than pleased to help an earnest beginner. Once you see some of your own

textures on items in the game it does tend to boost your enthusiasm a bit.

I've also been stung on the arse with the problem of having made too many

models to realistically finish. The modelling is the easy and fun part, but it's

only about 5% or so of the whole process of making an addon.

I think you misunderstood, I'm passing the pics of kit over to him because its hard to find pictures of British kit on ex. The only other sites are google and the mod photo archive which is crap.

Ideally when finished the UV map the pictures will come in handy when the textures are being done.

Here is the newest SA-80 A2 with new hand guard and ACOG sight

http://plamill.tripod.com//id66.html

Very hard to find without knowing where to look for pictures similar to the above.

Of course UV mapping is the priority, and I agree that its very hard, just keep at it!
