Tommy gun and Woodsmaster rifle

Recommended Posts

I have some free models which I would like to release to the community. They do not have LODs

or textures but they are otherwise reasonably accurate and complete models. Some proportional

adjustment may be necessary on the Thompson. Both have separate cocking handles and bolts ready

for animation.

These were intended for an addon project but I will not be able to complete them to my satisfaction

for quite some considerable time (if ever). I thought that someone else might want to finish them

and use them, or even release them, finished, to the community.

One is a Remington model 742 "Woodsmaster". A semi-automatic hunting rifle that was offered

in several calibres. It was (and is) a popular civilian hunting arm, and also the rifle most commonly

used by "snipers" of the Provisional IRA in the 1970s.

The other is an M1928 Thompson submachine gun, complete with barrel cooling fins, Lyman model

55B backsights and detailed receiver.

Nice, I was just done with updating my thompson, fixing the odd things that I forgot the first time around and now I guess I'll have to do it again. Though, I do have some questions, could I see the picture you used as a background? Because when I compare it to mine I see mine is off by quite a bit.

Also, isn't the stock like this:

Or were there non removable versions too?

Thanks for the guns!

Mine probably need some adjustment. TBH I haven't looked at

them for months. Feel free to do with them what you will.

Edit: Ah yes, IIRC that's the penultimate version of the TMC I

did. I lost the last one I did - along with most of my other

WW2 stuff. This one might need some slight adjustment to

proportions but pretty much everything is there - I think just

the magazine spring and push-button on the butt are missing.

In any case it's still quite a decent base to build on to get a

good Tommy gun addon (and it's free smile_o.gif )

And before anyone with a 56k cries, it not 141MBytes, its 141KB wink_o.gif

Good models mate, I hope someone can find good use for them, so the hardwork you've put in doesn't go to waste.

Oops! wow_o.gif Yes, it's 141 Kilobytes. I changed that (and also

removed the claim that the Tommy gun is well proportioned -

it's not quite, but just a bit of repositioning is necessary).
