The Armoury

i would also like the armoury to have some more challenges and let us initiate them at will (so we don't have to wait an age to do the target one).

I'd rather have them put the effort on a few more decent SP missions...

The editor covers the armoury with no need to unlock content in childish little games.

Yes mate, dont get me wrong the armoury is a very well done piece of work but in a game like this it just doesnt make much sense.

Well I find it nice to try out new addons.

Zero effort for simple scenarios to play in.

Truth be told I'd not miss the Armoury if it disappeared from ArmA2.

I think that all the time spent developing it for ArmA in the first place would have been better spent on improving and polishing the existing stuff, and making ArmA1 a better experience than it sometimes was: easy to say in hindsight tho.

If keeping the Armoury in ArmA2 means loads more work that could be better spent elsewhere then put it on ice then add it back in a patch later on or something.

Or if it will 'just work' in ArmA2 without major effort then it makes no sense to bin a feature that some folks DO like.

Perhaps the Armoury could be turned into basically a tutorial area where you can learn/practice things like flying & squad control without someone shooting at you.

Something like an extended army training center in which people can figure out the pro&cons from all kind of stuff eg. weapons range, AT/AA site, snipers "hell+paradise", air-to-ground & air-to-air practise, urban scenario, stealth training and commanding teams/squads/platoons. Maybe an open structure for testing community addons under the same conditions?

Yep, I generally used the map editor, but something like that where you could quickly create scenarios without having to actually "create" them would be good. Especially CQB training.
