I think he have to read the readme first.

Without an active project no objectplacing is possible !

He can adjust the screen ratio by pressing <F12>

(after the change close the dialog via <ESC> and open it in the correct ratio wink_o.gif )

Sorry, but on the picture i can't see a active project.

Set objects will be done via the "insert" or "c" key like the readme says. wink_o.gif

If you can't repro that i think you maybe try it with a lesser amount of addons,

maybe too many addons or one problematic addon cause a problem.  huh.gif

Try to reduce it first to the absolute minimum (ArmA, QG and MAP_.... ) and check if the problems are gone !

Hello  smile_o.gif

I don't know the cause of the problem. It may happen that the focus is on a wrong UI control.

At this moment, it is important to change the focus to the main display. Only this main display has the eventhandler for the keys like "c".

** Click only once with the left mouse button in the middle of the screen, then press "c" to try the "copy action" again.

Another possibility is that you copy the first object with the button [Copy] from the Copy-Control-Panel.

It is also important and logical that at least one project must be loaded.

Here again a small step-by-step instructions:

1. create a new project (button "new")

2. load the new project by double-click the appropriate entry

3. switch to "Data Pool" (F2) to find and select an object of your choice

4. press the "c" button to make a copy of this object. The 3DE then automatically switches to the object level.

5. If nothing happens see explanation above **

Alternatively, you can also press the "insert" button, so the 3DE don't switches to the object level and you can quickly select another object.

I hope this helps a little bit.

Greeting

Silola

Having some small problems...

1:

Some things you can elevate in hight some you cant..

ie, helipads, runways etc etc...Is it supposed to

be like that??

If i place say some BIG runway tiles and want to add

a helipad how do i do that??

Now the helipad end up under the runway tile..Thus not

visable..

2:

How do i save the project so i can open it up in editor?

NOT i 3de editor but the original...Or like a Mission?

Need some help getting this setup for use in Visitor.  Situation is:

1.  Have a map partially completed in Visitor not using 3DE.

2.  I use the Visitor Project | Import Templates and load 480 dummy templates.

3.  Now I am supposed to run the OED_Import_Templates script, but I do not understand what file I should open to execute the script on.

The directions simple say:

"In the following dialogue you need to navigate to your

Visitor-script, which you have generated in 3DE, and click "OK"."

I have no idea what this is.

Thanks.

Then read the readme. (dont get this wrong)

You can export any project you build from 3de to .sqm .sqs and .vis

Quote[/b] ]"In the following dialogue you need to navigate to your

Visitor-script, which you have generated in 3DE, and click "OK"."

Wheres the problem? the sentence is absolutly clear, Load your project in vis format smile_o.gif (but for that you alredy need one project with roads or objects or whatever)

Keep in mind after you execute OED_Import_Templates (and loaded your vis project) save the pew close it reopen and then you can use OED_Import_Objects.

Hint: If you placed some Roads with 3de you can run script over them.

Hey, just recovered enough from being sick to be able to pop on and check the forums. I see that some people's questions have been answered and yet mine hasn't. I'm hoping someone can explain to me what the problem is and maybe a possible resolution (if there is one right now) otherwise I can't use my projects until then.

I'm sure its easy to overlook someone's post--so no worries, just thought I'd bring it up again..... <nudge nudge> whistle.gif

Create Mission file

This function creates out of your project a mission-file (.sqm) with the same name.

A rhomb (#) before the filename creates on large mission-file out of all activ projects.

This file can be found in the files-folder. (don't forget to rename)

Hello,

here some "mini news" xmas_o.gif

I have upload a temporary new version from 3DE.

If you want to test this new build, follow this link:

http://e.imagehost.org/download/0428/MAP_3DE_103

Version 1.03

----------------

- [fixed] bug when loading a sqf file

- [fixed] bug when loading a sqm file

- [changed] You don't need the MAP_3DE.pbo, if you create an sqm file.

now You only need to copy the "OED_Set_PitchBank.sqf in your mission folder (Component of the Zip file)

- [added] a new layer named "Monitor" to observe all available units on the map.

note: this monitor is not finished yet (some bugs incl.)

monitorzt6.jpg

Short description:

---------------------

- The upper list shows you the available groups.

- The middle list shows you all units of a selected group.

- The lower list shows you different infos to the actual unit.

- Press the RMB in the upper list to call the "side" filter.

- [script Box] Without function for this version

- [switch Info] To shifts between different info pages

- [Refresh Button] Updates the group list

- [switch Cam] Switches between normal 3DE and special unit camera

- [special unit camera]

- Hold down the LMB and move your mouse to change the rel. camera position

- Move your mouse wheel to change the height of the camera position

- Press [Home] to set the camera to default position

- Press [Tab] to change the point of view

That's all. I hope you like it.

Greetings

Silola

Like the sound of it already. Can't wait to give it a try. smile_o.gif

This won't mess up any current projects you have saved, correct? Just want to double-check and ask to be on the safe side, hehe.

Thanks Silola for everything. thumbs-up.gif

Ok I downloaded the new stuff, laid down some Hesco barriers on Sakakah for a test. Saved it as a script and when I tested the mission in the editor it gave me the same pitchbank.sqf not found error. I even pasted it into the mission folder and its still giving me the error.

Now I've already posted this and my posts are getting ignored consistently while everyone else's problems were being looked into. I even tried a private message back in November and never once got a response about this. Now my patience is wearing thin since this is screwing up all mission projects I want to do and now can't because of this issue/bug/whatever. I would appreciate it if someone could help me finally.

I am sorry for getting impatient but after all this time and feeling as if I've been ignored left and right all this time, can anyone blame me? I really like this program and wish to build with it several things but until this issue is resolved I'm screwed. So I need help...pretty please with suger on top? lol  inlove.gif

Made a test with the latest version

I bet you did not copy the sqf into the root of your mission folder as Silola described here:

Quote[/b] ]

- [changed] You don't need the MAP_3DE.pbo, if you create an sqm file.

now You only need to copy the "OED_Set_PitchBank.sqf" in your mission folder (Component of the Zip file)

My only problem was that the mission.sqm was cleared from MAP_EU, but my set stone was in and i got no error ;-)

I did not found any information about the ability to load already existing *sqm files in the 3DE. Is there something i missed ? I was just wondering because i have set up a mission (based on an earlier 3DE version) with units and stuff and i would like to add some additional objects with the 3DE. Is that possible ?

Also am I somehow able to play this mission without the the MAP_3DE.pbo by adding that script even if it was created with an old version ? Is this possible ?

I am bit confused at the moment - Hope you can help me ...  confused_o.gif

The 3DE can't load mission.sqm files !

It's only able to export it from the actual loaded 3DE projects which can be loaded or saved.

Thanks for the answer,

I knew I could not be right.

Then I will copy and paste all units and triggers into the new 3DE sqm wink_o.gif
