they are there but they are not enguaged in active fighting.. as the MoD puts it..

"At the moment we are in the phase of looking at what assistance we can offer to the US.  That is where our effort lies."

oh wait, they were in that gun battle in Kabul.. so i guess they are actually fighting..  finally wink.gif   hope they do well.

The report said the firing gunfire was "more symbolic than directed" after the British SAS team "spooked" Taliban soldiers near Kabul

well sort of..

i thought it was the ex SAS guys who were well known for giving information about their missions wink.gif the embassy was seen by everyone anyway, bravo 2 zero was first told by the SAS guys in book form, and operations in borneo and malaya etc... no one knew about for ages. Although i'd imagine fighting rebels and helping out sultans and stuff is pretty insignificant anyway, although they were big acheivments considering what was done there.

everytime a US spec op farts or swears we hear about it, whereas all we know about the SAS in afghanistan is that they asked a mirror reporter some questions in a suspicious mood and were doing stuff at the prison raid.

Wobble! Why oh Why won't you stop talking rubbish!

The SAS see more service than just about any special ops in the world! Due to the nature of their work and the sheer number of British military commitments.

Well since we cannot solve the question: who has got the best of the best, we need to ask ourself, well how big are our special-forces. I know that Germany has a pretty tiny one, the KSK, the ones we send to Afghanistan, has only a manpower of around 1000. I guess that the Navy-Seals are probably many more.

Yeah, they've also done a lot of stuff independantly, whereas american spec ops won't fuck with anything without the help of several other nations and air support, and when they do it often ends in either a) a fuck up b) a mass slaughter of poorly armed civilian peasants.

In fact, in the 50 - 70's the SAS were facing rebels armed with the latest american equipment tounge.gif on their own no less.

I thought in afghanistan they were acting independantly from US intelligence anyway, maybe thats why no one knows what they're doing confused.gif

Noone knows what they are doing because the US cut freedom of press down to 0% concerning everything that has to do with military action (cause it must keep its "clean war image"). The parliament in Germany was deadly furious that our ministre of defense didnt inform them that German-special forces are fighting down there now for quite a while.

We are not in the US here and I too was realy realy angry at our arrogant leaders (fucking socialists)

They are doing a better job than the CDU though. Well, the CDU of the 90's anyway.
