nice idea to bring back OFP into new world of ArmA. Sadly only a few terrain textures have a proper look.

Yeah but for me the boost in F.P.S is well worth it wink_o.gif

Thanks to Yoma not even he spent a lot of time

improving his tool even more, yet in addition he is hosting a

YomaTools server for project OAC temporarily!

In other words you can now easily download and update all OAC

files with his tool from the server!

Even more expect to see OAC addons updated on a daily basis,

as well as new missions and campaigns added to the hub!

= HowTo =

========

1. Download YomaTools.

2. Start the app.

3. Configure your ArmA location and ArmA.exe in the 'Settings' tab.

4. Add 'new server': OAC server.

'Addon server URL': http://oac.yomatools.be

5. Download the different packages of OAC, like the core addons,

different sets of SP, MP missions and campaigns.

Missions related changes

----------------------------

[*]Minor fixes to BI SP missions

[*]Added PMC Fury campaign by Snake Man. He is

currently play testing his campaign again and improving the

version. Campaign may still contain quite a few bugs. Please

report them on the OAC bugtracker.

[*]Added all CWC and Resistance MP missions from BI. Again

these are work in progress. Please report any bugs you

encounter on the OAC bugtracker.

Additions and fixes

---------------------

[*]Replacement configs for M60, Mi24, CH-47D, Bradley, BMP, AH64!

Don't forget to download the required addons for that!

You find the links in the 'Required_addons_for_the_replacements' text file

located in '/@oac-optional-unit-placement/addons'.

[*]OAC now compatible to missions with JAM3 and BN Tracers.

[*]Mission naming of CWC/Res BI SP missions now correct.

[*] Fixed: HK weapon is meant to be based on MP5SD.

[*] Fixed: added cfgVoice.hpp to fix missing Medic2 error message.

[*] Fixed: various config related problems.

[*] Added: OAC powerGREP configuration files.

They basically only need to be executed in the said order.

Only for complex scripts the configs not always work 100%.

Still its best to use them anyway and fix the few errors

afterwards. More on the mission conversion process soon.

Which version of MS .NET should I install to make Yoma's tools work, version 2 or 3.5?

Is there any chance that we can get updates without needing .NET (call it my paranoia of MS bloatware)?

This has become my favourite addon. Arma is a bloody amazing improvment on ofp when run with top notch ofp missions and this addon. I'm in heaven. I just dropped the CWC campaign into my campaign folder and was stunned to see that it works give or take the odd error.

Any news on compatability with CWR units?

Regarding YomaTools you better ask this in YomaTools thread

or you refer to Yoma directly via PM.

YomaTools uses base a normal FTP server.

So fetching the files via links is no problem at all.

I will see what Yoma says about it.

However you loose all the nice features YomaTools offers,

like easy download all, easy updating etc.

stun you could test the CWC conversion we made as beta tester

We try to achieve 100% compatibility to CWR configs, yet I

Hi, what I meant was that when I try to run the OAC, and ace_islands addons with the CWR mod I get CTD within about 3 seconds of the title screen appearing. Not sure if this is just me or whether other people are having this issue. What I really need is to be able to just use the units and weapons from the CWR mod without all the other config stuff. I hope this makes it clearer.

Please update OAC via YomaTools. Several small fixes added to the OAC addon and the BI MP missions.

We are looking for playtester of the CWC, Resistance campaign and

campaigns of your own choice. smile_o.gif

.net 2.0 version is required.

There is no version that does not require .net (it's a c# program so...)

If you don't want autoupdate/clickonce installer, you can download the alternative setup from my site. This is however an older version, that performs a bit worse if you have a lot of files in your arma directory.

I don't really consider .net 2.0 bloatware, however people are entitled to their own opinions.

I have installed .net 3.5. Is their any security advantage to using this later version, or would I better to revert to .net 2.0?

Would be nice to have both - updates from OAC YomaTools server and packed files on 1st page of this thread. Maybe use Yomas for quick updates and 1st page for weekly/monthly "full" updates. smile_o.gif

I think the reason they do it with my tool is to save copious amounts of bandwidth wasted for a pack that is fully in development.

The nice thing is that this way they can provide near real time updates.

The not so nice thing is that people have to use my tool.

I'm pretty sure they'll come up with a full package later on.

Meanwhile: do at least TEST my tool before ignoring it completely, it's a dream to use on multiplayer servers that support it, compared to downloading separate addon packs.

At the FUN server the addons sometimes change multiple times on a single day. The server admin made an addon that has a version number in it. As soon as someone is not up to date, he begins "radioing" messages "I'm NOT UP TO DATE"

We then simply yell: go update. The player then disconnects, clicks "download all mods", downloads only the files he needs and reconnects to the game WITHOUT ANY HASSLE AT ALL.

Of course i fully comprehend server administrators that like to spend hours supporting people to find the correct addons, installing them correctly, and have them launch the game correctly too. Or debugging why mission x crashes when person y is connected. Then again i found there is a whole different breed of server admins too, and that breed likes my tool (or any tool like mine that "updates" addons, launches arma, has facilities to preselect what addons to use etc etc)

The Oac project does it come with Ofp tanks and soldiers? And everything from ofp? or is it limited to the objects in Arma?

should be made obsolete with the YomaTools server.

In case someone else would take care of preparing these packs,

sure why not. Overall how does your desired download look like?

A complete package - one core package, each campaign and

mission a separate download?

Well actually there will be a installer at some point. In case

someone wants to volunteer to adapt the one from

WGL/6thSense MOD it will happen a lot faster. wink_o.gif

Hehe I meant for example at the end of a month you put all together and say "OAC full -month- update". Nothing wrong with Yomas great tool!  wink_o.gif

played mission Vulcan but sth wrong with those M4 rifles - not usable for player. What about integrated OFP Unit & Weapon to ArmA Unit & Weapon replacement (feature)? "M60" > "M240", "LAW" > "M136", "AT4Launcher" > "Javelin", "AALauncher" > "Stinger" etc. ?

btw are you going to add OFP islands to PROPER_World_Configuration too?

Will there be any winter units for this mod i.e vechicles and men.

As it would give the island like kolgujev a much better feel like how it was in OFP maps like TNT CTF Red Snow

Well unfortunately from what I know no winter unit texture

replacement has been released.

Project OAC itself doesn't work on new units or textures.

Edit:

Fixed M4 could not use M4 ammo (class). Please update with YomaTools.

Allways glad to see people happy with my app biggrin_o.gif

Maybe tonight i will release a new version with "cache browser" It has some nice features like after synching/building cache, you can go to the "Cache Query Tool" and do stuff like

"show me the mods that have changed after today".

It will then give you a list of these files ;-) Might be handy for some, will be an unused gadget for most i guess.

looks fantastic. and it WANTS to work but i get continual lock ups, whether i'm trying to "save" the server, download mods, whatever. for some reason, it just keeps locking up.

At the FUN server the addons sometimes change multiple times on a single day.

Being the admin of that server I can only say without Yoma's tool that wouldn't be possible. It's simply the best.

It's by far the easiest way to get addons needed to play, no matter if you want to use OAC or want to play on a server that supports Yoma's synchronizer.
