manzilla 1 Posted July 25, 2008 http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....acement ?  face palm.... sorry bout that, thanks alot burns  Replacement Maker http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3375 The above link comes from ArmAholic.com. I'm not sure if it released elsewhere. Although I DL'd this when it first came out, I've yet to actually use it. Thus I can't give any feedback regarding the usability or features. All I know is that it's supposed to be a "Replacement Wizard" of some sort. I'm not sure if it needs to be updated or what limitations, if any, this has. My apologies for the vague post, hopefully this is useful. EDIT: All in all Mr. Burns thread will probably be the best bet. Replacements are a piece of cake with the info he provides. It doesn't take more than a few minutes to make/alter one and I've found it very useful, as learning the ins and outs of replacements drastically helped me learn the basics of ArmA configs, etc. Thanks again to Mr. Burns for putting that thread together.(I believe he created that thread after I asked him about making replacements.) Jolly_Roger 0 Posted July 25, 2008 with this template i can make weapons replacements ??
manzilla 1 Posted July 26, 2008 i still have to learn it for myself, Â i'll check it out tho mang. Christ I've been racking my brain for the last 30mins trying to find where it was, or if it even exists, but I swear CSL had a replacement file tutorial as well. (That's ColonalSandersLite, just in case.) I thought I briefly used it last summer when I was trying to figure em out for the first time. Maybe I'm imagining things but if I happen to remember/find it I'll give a shout back. ---------------------------------------------------- Jolly_Roger, I'm not sure. I never tried it. Check the description from the ArmAholic.com link. If it doesn't say anything there, all I can suggest is to DL it and give a try. Maybe there's an instruction manual/ReadMe as well. I don't think it's a very big DL. EDIT: If you mean Mr. Burns thread, I'm not sure if weapons use the same structure as units replacement files. The easiest way to find out is by checking the link I posted above for i0N0s' Wip M4A1 v1.6 replacement files. Just de.pbo one of his files and check the config. It may be possible to use that as your weapons replacement file template.
wipman 1 Posted July 26, 2008 Hi, the released replacement it's for the v1.5 pack, the v1.6 it's unreleased and we still have to add some things; if you use the Red Fix v1.1 keep in mind that our replacement (made by i0n0s) don't fully works with it, due that the Red Fix already replaced some of the BIS weapons for corrected/tweaked ones. So keep that in mind if your replacement don't works the 1St time. But if you don't use the Red Fix v1.1... then you screwed it up. Let's C ya
andersson 285 Posted July 26, 2008 If you use Red Fix 1.1 and make a replacement you can put Red's addon in requiredaddons[], that will make your replacement weapons to be loaded after, and thereby overwrite, Reds. What will happen is that your replacement addon will wait until Red's addon is loaded. Its a little ugly to do this, but if you use it privately it shouldnt matter. wipman 1 Posted July 27, 2008 Hi, yes Andersson, but the thing will be to make the replacement work in MP too for all the players without any issue; and we can't if we use the Red Fix v1.1, even changing the loading order of the Mods that we run with the ArmA's short cut. Let's C ya
andersson 285 Posted July 27, 2008 Ah, yes I see.. I guess as Red is fixing alot of different things his addon is dependant on alot of different addons, so that addon is loaded quite late because of all the requiredaddons[]. In that case the load order of mods doesnt matter. There is not much you can do about that, except convince Red to separate the weapon fix to another addon. The only way for you to make an addon that is loaded after Red's fix is to play around with requiredaddons[], but if everyone starts to do that it will eventually brake the system. So I suggest you to convince Red to split his fixes into several addons.
