The XR Sahrani life server Keeps geting this message from 2 hours to 700min into game then the server would just freeze up but von would work then i check server desktop and i see that message. This is what it says on the arma.rpt file ErrorMessage: Too many virtual memory blocks requested Virtual memory used for higher level "object" caches is allocated in 64 MB blocks in ArmA. There are at most 16 such blocks allowed. I guess for the sake of dedicated server, which is not exhausting its memory space by allocating textures and other D3D resources, we should perhaps extend the limit. However, I guess you should be able to work around this by using something like -maxmem=256 in your server command line - I guess performance impact should be negligible, and it should make the server stable. mr.g-c 6 Posted July 15, 2008 Ondrej, we have similar crahses as XR-Server and we both are playing the same mission which uses 1GB of addons. Only difference is we using Linux (debian) and as soon as the server process allocates between 1.3GB and 1.5GB of RAM it locks/crashes. Sometimes all will be written instantly into swap partitions which had sometimes locked the whole physical machine... (for the next patch) Thats great to hear, thanks! Will there be any other improvements in handling of larger addon-packs? Maxmem isn't the cure for everything, right? I mean we tried one and the same mission with ~1GB of addons and without. Conclusion is, with addons the Server FPS is around half as high as without addons + the server crashes very often with big addons. And we have a 4GHZ E8400 with 4GB ram, so thats not the issue here I mean i'm just curios because there are a lot of very big MODs in the Pipelines (ACE or Project 85' for instance) and it would be a shame if the servers couldn't handle them.... EDIT: And for the love of God, please please please please give us more DEBUG options! More thing to be written into the LOGFILES. We want to see why it is dying and crashing, not only a odd entry like: "WATCHDOG (29468): [Fr 18. Jul 18:51:07 CEST 2008] Server died, waiting to restart... WATCHDOG (29468): [Fr 18. Jul 18:51:12 CEST 2008] Starting server (port 2302)..." Please give us more debug options, this is really mandatory for every Server-Admin!
