Eversmen 0 Posted May 19, 2008 135th Aviation Regiment Greetings ArmA Community! If you have a love for flying or anything in Aviation, the 135thAVR is for you. We currently specialize in Arial Operations with various Helicopters and some Fixed wing aircraft. We have several roles in our Unit. We have Pilots, Aircrew, and Combat Air Traffic Controllors. An explanation of each of these roles is: Pilots: Obviously you will fly any aircraft that is needed. Odds are you may not be good at a certain aircraft, in that case we may not have you use it in operations, we will work around it. We do have a very good flight training program in which you will learn alot about Army Aviation tactics and procedures. We ask that if you are hoping to be a Pilot that you are already decent at flying Helicopters. These Members are always Warrant Officers or Commissioned Officers. Aircrew: Aircrewmen are also a very essential part of our team. They make sure each aircraft is fit to go and they also man the weapons systems on the aircraft. They also act as an extra set of eyes for pilots and will help spot out hazards or anything else that may come up. If you cant fly good this may be the job for you within our Unit. These members are Usually Enlisted Personell. Combat Air Traffic Controllers: These members play a very crucial part in our operations. They are the eyes on the ground. They will deploy with friendly units on the ground and call in Evacs or designate enemy Targets for airstrikes. These members are also generally Enlisted Personell. Now your probaly wondering why we are just aviation and how we might not have that big of a role in anything since we just fly. Well you are mistaken. Our unit is currently operating with Several Infantry Divisions such as the 9th Infantry Division and the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit. What we do is fly any aircraft for them so they can concentrate on their mission on the ground. We also fly for them during any training and Operation they may have. We try to keep a busy schedule with them in their activities but also have our own trainings in which we fine tune our skills. If there are any realism Units out there that would like to use our services for their Trainings or Operations please feel free to contact us on our forums or myself on xfire. Our site is http://www.135thAVR.com My Xfire is 2me11y I hope to hear from you soon! Thanks, LTC Krahn 135thAVR Commanding Officer
