(CWM) Chechnya War Mod

The CWM team is proud to release our first addon pack based on Chechnya war. We chose to release first Russian units with their equipment and vehicles.

The mod contains:

How to install:

copy the "@CWM" folder into your ArmA folder

create shortcut on desktop then add -mod=@CWM -nosplash

it should be like this :

vanilla

D:\ArmA\arma.exe -mod=@CWM -nosplash

1.12 beta

D:\ArmA\beta\arma.exe -mod=beta;@CWM -nosplash

note: if you use a sound mod, be sure to add the "@CWM" after the sound mod. In example : "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\beta\arma.exe" -nosplash -mod=beta;@sSound;@Radical_G_IVD;@CWM

Border guards yes, but not from KGB....as the KGB doesn't exist anymore. It's FSB now.

Great job, but weapons are a bit to ArmA ones. You can use probably RHS ones right now till you make it better. Anyway, good job. The only thing which pains me is right now no Chechens.

OK, there are nearly no bugs, but I found only one: A wheels in BMD-1 are static. If you fix it, whole pack will be great.

As was said earlier, a major problem is the missing RPG and PKM gunners from the types available.  However also missing is a medic.  

Also the "turn out" option on the BTR-80 should be removed if possible because right now the turned out view is kinda messed up.

Another thing that is very odd is that the soldiers lack body armor except for the OMON guys.  I would highly recommend that they use the type with the large ceramic plate pocket in the center.  I think its the civilian camera man or RACS who uses that type of body armor in ArmA.  That type of body armor looks closest to what I see Russian units using in Chechnya normally.  At the very least, the "Assault" soldiers have body armor and maybe have the rest without.

The type of body armor that I'm talking about can be seen on this web page featuring many types of Russian body armor:

The type I'm think of is like the Kora-1MK vest and the Bazalt-MK vest used by the Russian Ministry of the Interior troops.

A Maska-1sch helmet for Assault (heavy) troops would also be cool.

Also I would recommend that all of the assault soldiers you equip with the heavy assault helmets (the ones that look like pilot helmets).  Some Assault troops for OMON units would also be good.  Aside from that, the custom models are very nice looking and the weapons are excellent.  A silenced Bizon would be nice though as would also leaving off the Ak-47's.  How many units still use the AK-47?  I've never seen any Russian units using those unless they were captured weapons.

I would recommend maybe making the Chechen insurgents (when you make them) have mixed Ak-47 and AK-74 weapons since they often use captured Russian equipment but have Ak-47's smuggled in from abroad.
