Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted March 1, 2002 Well, I dont realy know. Switzerland has always been proud of being 100% neutral. Being neutral does not mean closing your eyes to what happens in the world, but to be able to chose yourself and dont need to listen to the "bigger" nations. On the other hand, this could also be a political strategy: either to calm down those swiss citizen that wanted to join the EU (at least we joined one community), or to prepare conservative swiss that the future of switzerland will no longer be 100% neutrality. Anyway I can tell you clearly that switzerland is financially very healty and a smart country and they will not be submissive enough to play the "minority cause small country" role in the UN.
