General

This addon contains beta version of reworked BIS M1A1 Abrams in NATO and Desert camouflage.

Features:

- loader position with mounted M240

- new textures

- slightly modified BIS model

- custom markings

- custom parts

- new armor values

- new ammo

- two ammo loadouts

- main gun recoil

Note: New armor values, new ammo and tank loadouts are based on NonWonderDogs Tank FCS addon.

Known bugs:

- loader can still rotate the turret while he is turned in

- AI cannot get in loader position unless he is ordered to get in gunner position with another AI, also main gunner position must be empty

- weird lights when using SLX mod

Future plans:

- more markings

- more detailed model

- more paint schemes

- NonWonderDogs Tank FCS, if he will give us permission to use his addon

- M1/IPM1

Great details, brilliant design and good job on the replacement, too!

Tested it with and without NWD Tank addons (works well!) and over several missions - couldn't see any major flaws (SIX tracers don't work with it, you get the weird BIS "lines" instead, but that doesn't matter much)

This is going into the list, if you don't mind.

Hey good news ! Will test it as soon as possible.

Why SIX tracers can't work with it ? Have you defined new ammo for it which are not recognized ? Would it be possible to have a BIS config for that ? i.e. BIS guns and ammo for compatibility sake...

Looks really good anyway !

Known bugs:

...

- Six Tracers are not supported, default ArmA tracers are forced to avoid situation that tracers are not visible while using this mod

- tank cannon muzzle flash from Maddmatt's ArmA Effects is not working

...

Those two problems would be solved if the weapons in the config simply inherited from the closest BIS class, then it would inherit the settings needed for those mods.

Of course your addon also needs to use XEH (by Solus) if it uses any eventhandlers.

I haven't looked at your addon so I can't be much more specific than that right now.

Hi, this M1A1's have USMC banners too and not only U.S. army?,

and will be possible to add a "God Of Hellfire" banner on the gun?,

that banner was pimp in a Nam M48 that i've seen. Let's C ya

All ammo and weapons are based on closest BIS class, but still Six tracers are not showing up (in public release they don't have right to show up as I forced default tracers wink_o.gif). Probably i missed something.

This version don't have many markings, but I will add more in future versions. Anyone can post their wishes smile_o.gif

Also it should be possible to set own textures in some places. Check the ReadMe file.

Really nice tank you got there!

Bad things first:

*The armor is way to high in relation with the other standard tanks..It can take up to 3-6 shot before it blows up

*The commander's Mg is way to powerful. I was able to BLOW a t72 with about 100-150 bullets. i found that odd

Good things:

*I like the canon's recoil absorber that works

*random markers

*overall quality of the model and textures.

Gonna put it besides Homer's and have a good comparison smile_o.gif

So, t90 next? smile_o.gif

I just looked at your config. The problem is that you don't use XEH (Extended EventHandlers).

If you want your addon to be compatible with mods like mine, 6thsense.eu tracers and more then you need to use XEH.

It would also make use of all the SLX effects.

It's accepted as a standard among many modders already. It would be nice if you also used it smile_o.gif

About commanders MG. I will take a closer look at this wink_o.gif

Might be a good idea to include XEH with your addon when you release the update, like I did with mine. Otherwise people who don't read things and haven't got it already will wonder why things like main gun recoil and random markings are not working confused_o.gif

Anyway, good job on the addon.

As for the commander MG being able to take out a T72, it's the same deal with the BIS one whistle.gif

As for armor its intentional. We dont want to see Abrams blowing up after 2 shoots from RPG. Now its more probable that tank will be more or less damaged and you will have to retreat or abandon it. If its too hard to destroy it, try from the rear wink_o.gif
