1.12 beta patch troubleshooting thread

Still get these odd freezes...From time to time lasts for about

2-5 sec..

My specs:

AMD Phenom 9500

3Gb Ram

Nvidia Geforce 8800GT 512Mb

VISTA32

Sound: M-Audio Delta 1010LT

Running the game on LOW...Normal....High....

No changes in the freezing..

PS: ALL DRIVERS UP TO DAT

The framerate drops from original 54-60 to 3,4 and then

jumps back up to 54-60

Ouch. My FPS took a terrible hit with 1.12. Very stuttering, 5-15 fps. 1.11 was good at 30+ for me.

This has to be a problem with vista 32bit. My game is unplayable because of the stuttering. I am used to getting between 65 to 70 fps. Now this goes up and down from 70 to 15 and back up again.

Can't install the patch, it claims i'm on 1.05, which, i'm not.  crazy_o.gif

Same problem:ArmA updated to 1.08

I cant install beta 1.11 nor 1.12:it says I am on 1.05

When I use the 1.05 to 1.08 patch it says I am already on 1.08

Anyone having problems with freezing or stutters in the game, read "The solution to Vista freezes" that i have placed in the troubleshooting thread. I had same problem but now my game is running really smooth.

Today this wasnt so big problem at all. Until one of my friends joined. So I think its up to his internet? But it wasnt so with 1.09. Not as much anyway.

Overall, we are very happy with this patch!

anyone experiencing graphic problems with night vision ?

I'm having such problem :

NV is blinking or turning off rapidly. It seems to occur when I zoom using right mouse click with any weapon (M4 Aimpoint SD, for example).

I've seen this on my Macbook Pro, 8600GT, Windows XP SP2 at least during the begining of the campaign, when you have to sneak around to destroy few BMPs/Shilkas and to find documents as secondary objectives.

I was playing 1440x900.

When I switch to 1280x800, it stops, and then it occurs again after a while, and it stops again if I switch back to 1440x900, and same cycle again.

Got an CTD. Put a bug report on the temp BTS but it doesn't let me to upload the zipped file (less than 2000K) with dumps and specs.

Again, with 1.12, there is aliasing or cracking visible between the LOD levels, but different to what happens with 1.11b, it seems here to be just visible on the sea mesh. Furthermore, when i move my player, the loading/streaming of the textures take much longer than with 1.09b or even 1.08, and then results in a black screen later. So first i've got untextured models loaded and then, when it started texturing, the screen went black. It did not crash, it just gave a black screen, and when i've killed the process, the Desktop switched down to 4 bit. A proper restart solved that oO.

The cracking/alisiaing effect is visible through black lines on the outer edges of the nearest and the next LOD level on the sea mesh. I've provided shots and a little movie in the 1.11b troubleshooting thread to show how it looks like.

I was testing that with 3-4 different nvidia drivers, nothing tweaked. I've put some other RAM into the system - same problem. With patch 1.08 ArmA works fine here. The betas are about to ruin the game on my rig.

Okay it's a granma specs-wise, however: Athlon64 +3500, with 1 GB DDR-400 (DualChannelMode) RAM, GeForce6800GT (256MB) and a SP2 patched XP32 Pro.

Men - i would like to benefit from the updated controls etc as well, but those graphics related issues seem to not let that happen sad_o.gif

Since patch to 1.12 i have problems playing Arma with Windows xp. Low performance (20 fps less than 1.11) and the game often freeze for a milli-second. there are vista 32 problems, but i have xp-prof !!!.

My system:

Asus p5wdh - deluxe

Intel Core 2 quad E6600

GF8800 GT (1000mb)

3GB corsair DDR2 (800mhz)

win xp

EDIT:

seems to be ok now, do a few more test. was on the new 174.74 beta drivers. and patch and driverchange was near the same time.

sitched back to 174.20. looks better now, but will check further.

Old Bugs still found unresolved:

ArmA german DVD version & QG, no mods, fresh intallment.

Unit: BMP-2

Description of the problem:

Player as commander in the BMP-2 can't use the command menu or any other command method (F1-F12 and number keys) to command any unit in or outside the vehicle.

only commands possible are direction commands and klicking on target with mouse button.

Weapon: Mk12 SPR

Description of the problem:

Weapon shows no muzzle flash on model. Muzzle flash is visible in ironsight (v) mode only. Muzzleflash lighting at night works but without any visible muzzle flash.

Also getting these odd freezes from time to time lasts for about 2 seconds, game becomes unplayable now in 1.12. Patch 1.11 was much smoother, had great performance

2Gb Ram

Nvidia Geforce 8800GT 512Mb

VISTA32

Drivers up2date

Didnt occur since 1.05 anymore. Changing details to low/medium has no impact.

3rd CTD since 1.12beta was installed. It Might be the addons with 1.12b i know. But no problems with the same addons in 1.11beta. Just curious if someone else has had same addons and same problems... vista64, 4gb, E6600@3,2 and gfx you can see from the above.

I first posted this Problem in the wrong section: ARMA General...

With patch 1.11, ARMA finally started w. Vista 64bit AND 4GB RAM. Was running really nice.

But there are still problems (1.11 & 1.2) when I try to use it with Vista 64bit AND 8GB RAM. Same black display issue I had w. 4GB and 64bit OS and 1.08/09 before.

Has anyone tested this combination? 8GB, Vista 64bit, patch 1.11 or 1.12?

My system:

Asus P5E, Q6600, 4x2GB Corsair PC6400 RAM, 2x ATI 3870, Vista Ultimate 64bit

Just curious if someone else has had same addons and same problems... vista64, 4gb, E6600@3,2 and gfx you can see from the above.

I've got the suggestion to run arma on a single core. Use runfirst or THG task assignment manager.

XPSP2 32-bit, 4GB, E6850@3GHz and 8800GTS512 here.

Fixed the sky bug smile_o.gif was my vid card,got my rma on my MSI 8800 GTS 320 and jsut put the new one in and fixed the sky bug!

My system:

New install of Game and OS.

I am getting horrible HDR flickering and screen corruption (White out, fades to black and then back to normal). No matter what I try it comes back all the time. Using 174.74 drivers and all other drivers are up to date.

As a side note the game World in Conflict uses tons of HDR and I got no errors of any kind, the games runs perfectly and it is equally or more demanding than ArmA.

Update1: Ok, since I have dual boot I tried the game in XP and guess what? No flickering/HDR problem! So, this seems to be only in Vista, of which I have Vista 64. I'd still much rather run the game in Vista as it my main OS, but this is at least information.

I get that flickering with 1.11 and 1.12

have you noticed such a flickering with Night vision on ?

Or when you use NV and zoom with an M4Aimpoint ?

Sometimes the game stop on "receiving data" and will never enter the game. Can get back to server browser by pressing escape.

Also i got video memory problem with this 1.12 version, sometimes texture aren't appearing, i must do a "FLUSH" to get them.

I just see an amazing thing too, i got "sniped" by AI in Kamov multiple time.

I am not thinking of air/ground combat, but air/air combat.

So the AI killed my BH, Cobra, A10 & even the Harrier II at 800 speed ^^ without suffering any difficulty to "lock" me.

I think there is a problem with AI combat when they use chopper (at least the kamov) & maybe this problem still the same if they use mi17, cobra, blackhawk & SU-34.

I haven't tested with other vehicles.

Ive lost the option in the GFX settings to turn on Antialiasing when i click on the option it only comes up with disable, can anyone help?

We had four 1.12 server crashes (access violation) in 24 hours. *sigh*

Now we are back to 1.09 (again sad_o.gif)

I gave 1.12 another chance today.

It didn't take long until the server crashed again.

This happened when someone with RHS Addons connected. An error message appeared when he was in the game (something like missing RHS AK74 magazine...). So it may be related to the RHS weapons addon.

I saw this error message allready on previous ArmA versions but the server didn't crash, just the error message appeared.

I would turn on Signature Validation on the server, and run without addons or only approved addons for a wee bit.

We're running with 15-25 players and can play for hours and hours, and the server runs days.

We're using about 5.4GB of Mods. But our Servers and Clients are 100% synched with eachother, by using an Integration Mod and VerifySignatures.

It's very possible that you guys have issues because of incompatible addons with the new version, or simply because of a new situation where some guys have certain addons that other's dont have, and thus crash eachother or the server.

Like I said before... we have no problems with 1.09 for example. The server doesn't crash if someone with an incompatible addon connects. The question is, why does it now ?
