Autumn plants (standalone)

Hi

Autumn plants in standalone version:

-only europe-like plants (no bananas, palm etc)

-various colors for some models

-possibility look it via editor (Empty/kndr_autumn plants)

-sometimes used prefix:

g - green

y - yellow

o - orange

b - brown

0 - black

1 - white

2 - gray

this means "kndr_autumn gy_briza" will have color something like green+yellow

As soon as looking at the pictures there comes the feeling

that this is one thing that should be already hardcoded into

the game, depending on time of year and weather settings.

This would be an awesome change to the atmosphere and

could give every mission it's individual taste.

But sure there were lots of other troubles, BIS had to deal

with when developing ARMA.

Note: green grass and flowers from screens above is a standard grass. I have recolored grass (and flowers, weeds) too, but there is no screens with this.

@DMarvick: all models are originall BI's models, I'm not modeler and I noob with it. I don't know exactly what You want.

Aha, OK in that case then I think they will have regular BIS viewblock objects then. Unless you worked on a Durg's Vegetation Fix version? (Which I doubt given your reply.)

But nice work on the recolouring.

Agree. I'd like to investigate the possibility of the vegetation and weather being a function of the Date in game. This way you load up in June and it will be very likely to have summer weather and green trees. Load up in January and very likely to have brown trees and poor weather.

Can someone post me a link to the documentation about rewritting configs during runtime?

All in All, this addon give a ofp atmosphere. Well, I was cosidering about downloading long time...

I decided to DL cause it is "increasing" visual ;p

not all;

some are changed (3 or 4), some have several versions. Most of textures from replacament autumn plants addon are used here.

It's seems to me that in the standalone version texture are a little bit more darker (better). Very good addon!

This is an nice plant pack biggrin_o.gif Is they any way you can make this plant pack an replacement pack like your other one? Since this pack has a lot more to it nicer plants in all wink_o.gif

these look better because there are added variuos version of the same tree. (most textures are the same)

Using in some place some model and on other place other one when island requests the same model is rather imposible.

Maybe there is a solution in config which for exaple randoms model for class, but: (not sure) islands doesn't use trees' classes but only paths to models in addon, hence config wouldn't change anything.

We can do experimental thing: in replacement plants addon models which we dont like replace with other color version of models we like. This cause there will be less kind of plants but more various (in color means). But: forests on Sahrani are rather mono-trees (forest NW of Bagango or: http://gliniak.ovh.org/my_files/bis/images/jesien/bt2.jpg ) so in this solution forests continue to be mono-trees

Hi Przemek_kondor, hope you don't mind I resurrected this thread smile_o.gif

The standalone plants are very nice, I wish you had used the Durg's Vegetation Fix versions of the models (I think you can just use them same as BIS versions) as I wish them to have the better concealment properties. As it is, I think I will make my own (smaller) version of alternative coloured trees. Just the ones I need for my particular map smile_o.gif

I hope you don't mind, and I give you advance notice, that I will be using similar (but not same) naming conventions for my versions. I say this just to avoid confusion or misunderstanding later wink_o.gif

Or... I might ask you to change this addon to use the Durg vegetation version models, that would save me a lot of work and make your addon improved smile_o.gif Any interest?

I reckon you would need to:

Apply Durg's fix to your default ArmA plants.

De-PBO this new fixed version to get the models.

Apply whatever fix you applied to each model and save them as your own version again.

If I will continue development work it will be not earlier than in July. Simply now I have no time and I know myself - if I start, I won't stop quickly. Now I'm only evening player or addon/news watcher.

So:

-feel free to use it and modify for community

-I can You provide non-binarized, non-pbo version if this will help You in some ways
