This happens when you run the dedicated server directly from the exe. You need to make a shortcut like the following:

Target:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Games\ArmA\beta\arma_server.exe" -mod=beta -nosplash -config=server.ini

Start in:

"C:\Program files (x86)\Games\ArmA"

Note the difference in the two.

- AI can still identify and classify vehicles behind hills ( in my test my tank gunner - M1A1 Tank, me as commander - identified and reported enemy bmp behind a small hill and i could see it on the radar as red quadrangle )

- AI is firing with AT rockets on infantry

- AI groups are still spread over big area and anybody will fight alone his own war. Using of groups have a sense - only the team/group can complete the objective. This world was not made for guys like rambo

- the setFog command doesn´t works when you will use later as on mission start

- "dirty-burn" textures of near (1 - 100 meters) destroyed vehicles are dissapearing when i turn me in other direction and turning back after few seconds.

- the same LOD problem with the vehicles

- same texture and LOD problem will regards houses, trees and bushes

I reckon, BIS has implemented following feature to reduce AI computing time when AI is in far distance to player (over 500 - 800 meters - its like the "dirty-burn" textures feature?), but it is working on near AI units too:

- AI moves through houses, walls, trees, bushes, other units (vehicles and persons) and fencess

Connections problems maybe identified.

That looks to my like wrong implementation of IP gamespy reporting or equal.

There is problem with connection to servers, which are running on private ip adress (=no public ip adress).

That can be, when you have server behind router (nat router included), and public IP is on your router and private IP is on your server. That problems occurs even you have your private IP adress as DMZ host on your router, or you have forwarded necessary TCP or UDP ports from your router (public IP) to the private IP on your server (=virtual server=port mapping=port forwardint ...).

That all looks, like the server send local server IP adress to the gamespy server list, and when you have only private IP adress on your server, nobody can't connect to your server thru in-game server list from gamespy.

Only one solution is there, you can connect direct to the IP (bypassing gamespy server list), you must start game with necessary parameters:

arma.exe -mod=beta -connect=<ipadressofserver> -port=<port>

To our server would be that:

arma.exe -mod=beta -connect=88.212.6.233 -port=2302

I was not investigating that to the deep, this is only first shot, because i dont have enought time right now.

The engine power on the aircraft was too low, now the power and speed that can develop aircraft is ridiculous. At Camel him it is almost impossible to take off, the A10 looks like a bus with wings. The other aircraft not tried, but assured that the same thing happens. These parameters deviate much from reality.

I've seen people list this as a bug many a time. Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I've always enjoyed the occasional RPG winging past my head or into the ground near my position. biggrin_o.gif

Its not logical. You can use AT Rockets to fight armoured or not armoured vehicles and fixed postions like bunkers. But when i have a 2 enemy T-80 in the city and the one AT Specialist will fire all of his 3 rockets in the ground to kill 3-4 soldiers, so it is a little bit ridiculous.

But most of the other bugs are announced at version 1.08 or before and the last patch is good, but all these bugs (some of them are simple config issues) are still exists.

I simply tell the AT soldier to hold fire, then give him a target, in those scenarios.

Yes if you want your AI team mates be very effective, you unfortunately need to micro-manage them. It takes more time but if you have patience then you will get much better results than just trying to play rambo-style without caring about AI team mates. You could even have your whole team alive at the end of the mission, which is imho something that should be aimed for.

To tell the AT gunners that they hold fire can`t be the solution, when enemy infantry is around all firepower is needed.

They should not fire their AT rockets at infantry at all, as long i can`t tell them to use only their rifle atm.

It`s implemented this way a bug, and not a feature.

"Hold Fire" doesn't work good for AI.

Another way around is to use Proper Mods: No AT Use Vs Men By AI. It's ridiculous to waste AT ammo on infantry - that's rambo style.

If it's fragmentation/thermobaric warhead - AT vs Men would fit. wink_o.gif

A bug is when something doesn't work in the game like its developers intended it to work.

You will have to discuss this with BIS developers on a philosophical level, to be or not to be et cetera smile_o.gif

I can command my AT soldiers to hold fire but then they don´t use their primary weapon too. I think it is better when AT Soldiers uses their AT weapon only on structures and armoured vehicles and not to kill a lone soldiers.

Put yourself in the AI AT position.... there you are, scoping in on the T80 w/AT weapon, then you see in the corner of your eyes, enemy soldiers rushing towards you. Are you going to tell the enemy to wait while you change weps?

SWAT_BigBear do you really think that AT units don't have someone for cover or that they don't recon the area before they fire AT? Instead of wasting AT ammo those units could hit the dirt and roll to the left/right. wink_o.gif

How is that even relevant? The AI will switch to the AT weapon to take out infantry when they already have a rifle equipped.

Even in that situation, firing the AT weapon at them is not going to take them all out. It's going to make you a target and you will be dead in about 1 or 2 seconds. You have a better chance by going prone and switching to your rifle.

But if you're in the open then you'll probably die no matter what you do.

The M136 and RPG warheads in the game are not effective against infantry, they have little splash damage. To waste them on infantry when you might need them to take out armour is just not smart confused_o.gif

And they usually miss, so it's a complete waste.

If the appropriate warheads to use against infantry were there, then it would make sense.

Maybe we need a thread with well described bug reports, real ones that is..

-Engine sound in civilian vehicles is too low.

-M16A2GL has one invisible lod.

-Heavy breathing sounds are gone.

-Sudden death sindrome in some terrain areas.

Stuff like that...

I agree with you here, of course it is totally ridiculous when they fire there RPGs against a small group of people instead against the tank/APC nearby.

There is room for improvement, but AI using AT weapons in general is by design.

I quite like dodging RPGs, myself. At least you have a chance of dodging a PG7 winging towards you. smile_o.gif It always spices up MP time when RPG contrails all pop outta nowhere into our perimeter.

Wind?

The wind can not move a bomb of 227 kg (500 lb) several hundred meters and in the manner shown in the video. Besides the bomb should rotate down and be upright, and it does not.

Oops, sorry.

I think, that shooting on soldiers with AT weapons - while stocks last bullets for AI´s primary weapon - is sheer waste of ammo. The rpg or m136 ammo is not developed to kill people on open field. The killing of troops behind the walls of structures (bunkers) and in vehicles is only possible that the walls are breaking and killing or wounding units with splinters or rockets killing crew in vehicle with the shaped charge.

<span style='font-size:12pt;line-height:100%'>Another disfigurements in game:</span>

- after i shooting my fixed MG (M2 static or in vehicles) or grenade launcher empty, we can still see the ammo in the magazine

- the ammo to getin vehicles (bmp) is false and units are placed to high. This anim is better for trucks or other higher vehicles.

- shooting on hmmwv´s driver window will produce exactly same damage in the left (passenger) window. This same problem in some other vehicles with double window on front.

*SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN BUG FOUND*

Not sure if this was in previous versions.

I decided to play the Single Player Campaign again in 1.11 beta...

When the SLA have taken Corazol and then Ortego, there is a side mission on the Dolores mission to go to Geraldo and AMBUSH the convoy.

Oddly enough, sometimes the convoy chooses NOT to go through Geraldo to the camp, but goes through Ortego instead, and approaches the camp from the west. This means the spotter also never gets to say, "Everything is all set, the convoy is on its way" either since it doesn't see the convoy.

I kept repeating this, and SOMETIMES they go through Geraldo, but a lot of times they go through Ortego.

Secondly, the "Reinforcements" turns out to be a lone T-72 manned by... BLUFOR soldiers! So it shows up as green, and it BLOWS away the convoy when they reach their destination, and when I destroy the convoy it does not come in to check out why the convoy was destroyed.

I went and blew up the T-72, where I saw the BLUFOR soldiers fall out dead, and when I completed the mission it said I murdered 3 friendly soldiers.

They have wings. Possibly hey are looking for a target.

As for the rpgs, if you leave your troops combat mode set at 'alert' instead of 'danger', they will be less likely to use their at on anything but vehicles.
