Addons Question

Recommended Posts

I've d/led a few add ons that do not show up in game.

McNools Desert Vehicles; RHS T-64; RHS Mi-24 Hind; and some woodland soldiers; and Footmunch's F-16

None of these show up in the game. They are not even listed in the editor.

Have I d/led too many add ons? I have plenty of other add ons that work flawlessly.

They are in a mod folder with the shortcut modified.

Post the shotcut you use. Maybe someone can find the problem. Also you can try and throw the addons that dont work in the addon folder instead of a mod folder.

Hi all

Addon dependency?

Check that the addons you are using are not missing some other file, usually listed in the readme for the addon.

Addon incompatibility? Two or more addons that clash; to find out which ones, perform a hand sort:

For computer literate persons, may cause your computer to eat your cat or other serious happenings so do at your own risk.

1) Make two testmods folders

2) Call them @testmod1 and @testmod2

3) Place an addons folder in each of the test mod folders

4) Copy all of your addons into @testmod1 addons

5) Run your @testmod1 folder and see if it shows missing addons

6) Copy each missing addon, with any required dependent addons, in turn to @testmod2 addons.

7) Run @testmod2 if you now see the missing addons you know they work and it is not an addon dependency

8) Copy each addon in turn from @testmod1 addons to @testmod2 addons. until you find the offending incompatible addon

9) Inform both addon makers of the incompatibility so they can work out a fix between them.

10) until then do not run the incompatible addons together

Alternately for the really computer literate a hand bubble sort is quicker. Again perform such activities at your own risk.

Kind regards walker

Thats good everythings working.

I just wanted to throw in that your "Target" in the shortcut

can have only so many characters also.  Since you said you

were running a lot of addons your target line was probley

maxed out.

They are in a mod folder with the shortcut modified.

Most common mistake happens when you forget to create a addons folder in the modfolder wink_o.gif

Just a small hint read walkers post whistle.gif

I must say it indeed smells a lot like this mistake.

Addon discussions belong amazingly enough in A&M: Discussion smile_o.gif

Well... I don't have any issues with AddOns you have listed... Maybe because I am using 5 addons and some replacements at the moment? xD

It's kind and good to download every addon, as it's people's work, but if you feel you won't use it because you are already bored of it or just don't need it. Remove it.

Take the point of downloading... something like:

Modern Addons?

Realism?

Fun? xP

I found out why some of my addons wouldnt boot,

It seems like you can not have any spaces in the name of the addonfolder.

Was like this: @Sakakah v.1.0

Should have been like this: @Sakakah_v.1.0

I feel a bit dumb now tounge2.gif
