IsthatyouJohnWayne 0 Posted February 26, 2002 It strikes me that when oxygen comes out there will be an awful lot of vehicle/weapon addons coming out very quickly and for a long time to come which people will no doubt want to incorporate in user made missions. It seems to me that people will very often have to download multiple very very similar addons for different missions whether single of MP, it could get crazy and very hard to find 'straight' multiplayer games left. (similar to the Rainbow Six series of games, when you seemed to need about 3 mods for each different server) Therefore it is evident that some community(official or semi official-or just trustworthy) approval organisation would be very useful to avoid multiple sub standard copies of the same vehicles/weapons being downloaded + 'Frankenstein weapons' like super fast super armoured super powerful tanks etc. this 'organisation' would review addons for realism/model quality/newness (not one of 30 approved uzis) timeline? etc and then would give it ...i dont know permission for an attachment like OfficiallyApprovedAddon O.A.A.(i just made it up, i dont know) which would be attached to the name or something. Now dont get me wrong of course people could still release and download their more 'creative' wacky/crazy/badly made stuff but it would not get this 'approval' (unless submitted and approved) and it wouldnt apply to cosmetic things (Avons FAQ hahahaaah ...oh good grief) like satchels sound addon, just the basics of vehicles and weaponry i realise it might sound a bit fascistic but i really think it would help keep the OPF 'world' together whether/how BIS would get involved i have no idea well.......just an idea critical responses welcome Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
