the helmets look great plasman, keep up the good work...

about the randomize script, it should be possible, maybe not yet but soon enough, however I can't do it, I have no idea how to make scripts what so ever... and its not even possible to make different faces on the units yet, I belive a lot of people is working on solving that...

Topnotch!

Meantime some screenshots of the helmet diversification program:

Pls check your pm for links to the 1st two texture sets.

They include the _co (regular texture), _noqh (normal map) and _smdi (to avoid shiny helmet).

Just hit the back button and lost my post...damnit

Anyways I'll keep it short.  Did a search and came across this and came up with this:

http://www.hrc.utexas.edu/exhibit....360.jpg

http://www.mooremilitaria.com/Helmet%20Band%20Army.JPG

http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d76/rancid375/Helmet1.jpg

-don't know authenticity of these though

http://www.the-forum.com/EPHEMERA/rjr.htm

http://cigarettes.euro-cig.com/gallery.php?id_cap=39

Probably worthless but interesting to look at.

And also look at this for combat boots:

http://www.mooremilitaria.com/reference.htm

Btw whats up with that hat, give it OD colors atleast, should only be a few helmets with that too...

the hat isn't on the models, Plasman is only editing the textures...

thanks for the links I'll check them out and see if there's any new stuff to add...

I also made some battle debris objects, like empty sheels and magazines lying on the ground, some helmets with and without blood and is now working on some corpses...

this is getting more and more confusing, I had a lot of models with the random face bug, then I found out that only some certain models would allow the random faces, I made one unit with one of those models the random faces worked perfect, then without checking I thought I needed to redo all the other models to get it working, but just now I found out that after inserting the one model that worked all the others now have random faces aswell, didn't do anything the config or anything I really have no idea what I did....

By the way, I really like the colors, good job and I've also seen the new soldiers ingame (in the new vte) and they are really good.

sorry for being quiet for some time, I got a new internet conection and have been on and off for a while, in the mean time I have been working on my skills with some new models, to find the solution for some bugs...

here's some pics

on this one there's a normal map problem, no matter what I do its still the old one that shows, but when I look at another unit in the game, their gone

ww2m1tz7.jpg

I got the vest removed made the boots a little longer but as you can see the helmet textures are stretched and I don't know how to fix that

ww2m2hl0.jpg

ww2m3ha9.jpg

here there's a shadow under the backpack can't figure out how to get it away

ww2m4tp6.jpg

on this one there's shadows from the equipment that I removed still on the model

ww2m5yk3.jpg

here's a wierd one, when I look down the player unit not only the shadows but the entire loadout is still there

That might be because you need to edit the shadow lods and view pilot lods, however I am no expert have only been playing around some in 02.

that did the trick, thanks!

I just noticed another bug, when the units move far enough away the helmet texture fails to show correct, it turns bright beige anyone know how to fix that?

I'm not sure if I'm going to release these but just in case I borrowed the helmet from this addon for ofp

http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?showthis=6780

does anyone know who to ask for permission?

Well since the addon is made by the WWIIEC team as shown in that link i would say contact them. On the very page of where that addon is available is also a small banner (scroll down) on the left that says WWIIEC. My guess would be that if you press your left mouse button on that small banner that then a website will appear of the WWIIEC team (at least their forums will as they building a new site it seems). Well and hey presto hassle someone that is of the WWIIEC team and ask if they can help out on to point out the quilty one who made that perticular addon wink_o.gif

Other way is to read a readme if one is included and maybe that will tell you who exactly made it.

Your choice really...  smile_o.gif

Concerning the problems you're having with normal maps:

don't forget to also edit the alpha channel as well as the simple RBG channels! At a pinch, you can simply copy the green channel over into the alpha channel, though I'd recommend doing things the proper way.

pretty sure I covered that, more or less anyway, I havn't made any new normal maps since it didn't work correct I didn't want to do all the work for nothing, however I must have done some thing half-right because it does work as it should once in a while, thats what I don't get sometimes the model just show a clean beige shirt as it should for now, and other times I can see the old flak vest...
