Darker Ironsights

I was bored, and kind of let down by BIS' ironsights on the m16 and m4 rifles, I would have to strain my eyes to see them. So I decided to try retexturing them so I can see them easier. I just added a little spray to the front post area so it kind of looks like some one sprayed it with that sight black stuff.

All the m16 and m4 rifles, without aimpoints or acogs, are modified with darkened ironsights (just the front post section, not the rear peep hole.) This comes with a replacement mod so you can play with them online without having to add them to missions. Install it just like any other addon. Heres a list of the altered rifles.

The M4s dont have the blackened triangular section, but they do have a darker post. (I'm not sure why it does that). Anyway, enjoy...

I think you should make it all darker, like the real thing.The M4 variants whole texture is too light.

My AR-15 has a nice dark finish, something like that would be great.

I've made a texture like that in the beginning. But it seemed too much. I could go back and work on it over Thanksgiving.

These ironsights are really great Milkduster, and very realistic. As an assault rifle weapons expert for the Greater Manchester Homeless Outreach Programme, I can say 100% that these are more reaslistic than actually looking down the bullet tube of a 99.9% real gun machine.

I concur - can you please release your 'darker' M16/M4 family of rifles? - I alway thought the default was too light and yours look cool!

Really nice, you did a good job with not overdoing it. Usually when I see a blackened paint job, it's usually blacker then black can be (no, I'm not talking about Mr.T ) Never like the shape BIS's wep's were in any way. I don't think your snazzy M16 will stay bold and shiny after you drop down into the mud.

I've been working on the darker rifles and have a few pics of them to show off. The M16s are nearly finished, but the M4's are acting weird, they still look good none the less.

Just curious, is there any way to make the mags just a little darker too? If not, please don't bother - but I was just thinking that that the rifles look very cool, and now the mags look a little too light...Here's a 1 second search on Google
