Fred DM 0 Posted October 26, 2007 looking good . is it a new model for ArmA or an import from OPF?
Winters1807 0 Posted October 26, 2007 Totally awesome, this is probably the highest quality addon i have seen for arma. Can i enquire as to how this compares with the T72, as in, easier to destroy or does it have thicker armour? Same size gun? Annway, fantastic work
Shadow NX 1 Posted October 26, 2007 looking good .is it a new model for ArmA or an import from OPF? Completely new. @Aimpoint Indeed Sorry @Winters I think its pretty similar to the BIS T-72 but with ArmAs damage system you wont see much difference anyway, but i think we will have some working armor script in further releases, no promise though. 343rdBadger 0 Posted October 26, 2007 Nice tanks...But how do we get the ambiant radio sounds in Arma xtreme 1.3 to apply to these tanks??I mean we're kinda spoiled now with both emersion sounds and laseing capability in the t-72.Anyway to get the radio sounds to apply until the NWdog stuff is applicable?? Shadow NX 1 Posted October 27, 2007 Nice tanks...But how do we get the ambiant radio sounds in Arma xtreme 1.3 to apply to these tanks??I mean we're kinda spoiled now with both emersion sounds and laseing capability in the t-72.Anyway to get the radio sounds to apply until the NWdog stuff is applicable?? XAM only covers the original vehicles afaik so i doubt we can have radio chatter of that mod in the tank without it being included in one of their next versions. About NWDs optics, its hard work to implement those and also the T-64 uses a different system from T-72 as the 64 compared to the 72 is pretty superiour ( and more costly ). stun 5 Posted October 27, 2007 amazing work guys. it is a very professional looking add on. I have had a bit of a test run with it. I have noticed that it takes between 3 and 4 hits with the AP shells to take out an abrams, whereas the HEAT and HE shells only seem to require 2 hits. I did a test with 4 T64s v 1 abrams and the abrams took out 2 T64s before the AP rounds disabled its gun. while i appreciate that the abrams is a newer generation of MBT it seems that when using the AP rounds the T64 is seriously out gunned, even when compared to the T74 which only needs 2 hits to destroy an abrams. I'm guessing that part of the problem is ARMAs system of defining armour doesn't allow for the sort of internal damage that the non explosive AP rounds would do. I'm definitely not a tank expert so I could very well be wrong. great work as always by the RHS team. thank you!
Jezz 0 Posted October 27, 2007 read the pdf manuel the second last page tells how to change the ammo loadouts
stun 5 Posted October 27, 2007 @jezz what are you getting at? Do you mean change the loadout to HEAT instead and get rid of the AP rounds?
Jezz 0 Posted October 27, 2007 no loading the tank with the newest 125mm ammo ie 125mm 3BM46, 125mm 3BK31, RelfexM also note that russian heat ammo tends to have higher pentration than a apfsds from the same era so 3bk31 will still out score 3bm46 this due to a number of factors the main being the size of the autoloader limiting the length of apfsds projectile, this limit is less inportant in building a more effective heat round. stun 5 Posted October 27, 2007 can anyone help. I have tried using "removeAllWeapons this;" and then adding a new main gun and ammo as per the pdf instructions. for some reason the original gun is still there with all its ammo as well as the new gun? sorry, i should have put this in my previous post rather than spamming the board.
