Abbe 0 Posted October 11, 2007 ATI 7.10 is out, supposed do be targeted to FPS-games and their performance x2--- and x1--- mainly. Doesn't say anything about crashing AGP users either, maybe whey've fixed that bug? Does it have what it takes do play ArmA? Â /Abbe
bravo 6 0 Posted October 11, 2007 please a link would be nice for the "slow people" like me.. ill test it tonight.. maybe in 3 hours or so. Feedback is also welcome. Hope its for real, also for real improvements. EDIT1: For the "slow people" like me: http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx EDIT2: Just did a quick test and i think its alittle smoother. At least i think it is. The rest looks the same.

Abbe 0 Posted October 11, 2007 As I thought, no speed gain at all... But a subjective opinion: somehow it all looks a bit more beautifull, nicer colors and somehow a "smoother" (almost like AA on?) screen. Ofcourse I have no AA on... /Abbe
kklownboy 43 Posted October 11, 2007 same issues as the 7.9s, ground textures become grey with patches(squares) of proper rendering... looser set. HD2900xt 7.8s are still the best set... Time to get loud again with ATI, And hopefully Bis can tell them too.
Dwarden 1103 Posted October 11, 2007 7.10 is out, some improvements in fps but in overall approx equal like before for me... same bugs present like in previous drivers nr.1 : read more there http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=64945 nr.2 : when switching shadows from normal to high / very high all soldiers camo turns into vertical lines, there is no face texture etc ... (seems like x1950/x1650 only affected) here is how it looks http://img49.imageshack.us/my.php?image=armavsatiagain01shadowswl4.jpg
Q1184 0 Posted October 11, 2007 The second bug only appears when HDR is set to 16/32 bit. With 8 bit HDR it doesn't show up (x1950 pro). Also 16 bit HDR causes terrible haze similar to Dx10 cards.

kklownboy 43 Posted October 12, 2007 I messed around with the settings. 8HDR with any AA is grayish ground textures with patches of good ones. 16HDR is fine with, or with out AA, 32HDR is good, but no option for AA, its only Disabled. 16 HDR is foggier. 8 HDR is default for my 2900xt.
