BinPBO Personal Edition

Recommended Posts

I can't get BinPBO Personal Edition to run. It just gives me an error message:

Quote[/b] ]C:\Program files\Bohemia Interactive\Tools\BinPBO Personal EditionBinPBO.exe

This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Then I click ok and nothing happens.

I have reinstalled, even re-downloaded it several times. And of course restarted the PC.

Using WinXP Home 32bit

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800

2Gig DDR400 RAM

Can anyone help me get this working? Maybe I could use command lines for everything, but I'd rather have the UI working.

Weird, have you tried installing in a different location?

Is that location where all the other BI tools are located ?

I'd suggest the same... over the years i've found it best practice to never install any game (esp. OFP/ArmA) or game tool in a path that has any 'space' ascii characters in them...

eg. my ArmA tools are all installed on in my 'O:\Tools\...'

ArmA itself is installed in 'C:\Games\ArmA' including profiles and all...

so yeah, try a different install path... baring that try downloading the tools again...  wink_o.gif

I just installed the tools to the default path. I just tried C:/BinPBO and C:/Binmake but it made no difference.

Already re-downloaded and reinstalled several times with no success.

This is frustrating sad_o.gif

Perhaps your operating system is missing a Micro$oft runtime .dll?

These are usually supplied with the application itself if it has dependencies.

The information in this link may guide you in the right direction - typically msvcr80.dll for Visual C++, or perhaps a .NET .dll missing.

Can anyone help me here? I have no idea why this is happening.

Problem solved. I went to www.microsoft.com and installed every last update. Now it works perfectly. I should have done this ages ago.

Enable automatic updates.

I will. I just had it disabled before because of this irritating problem where it would come up with a message saying there were new updates, and then the dialog box would say '0 new updates' and ask me if I wanted to install them. Would do that everyday. Maybe they fixed that now.
