O2 exports to max really small

Recommended Posts

Hey y'all!

When I export the BIsoldier to max, max imports it really small. The model is about the size of a squirrel...I've tried playing around with the Master Scale option, and I want to know what number you guys have had success with. 1000% is too small, 10000% is too big, and while 5000% seems about right, I'd like to know what others are doing. thumbs-up.gif

Also, is the only way to export models just a straight export/import? Are there any inbetween steps I'm missing?

Thanks!

why not make a 1m x 1m in O2 then import it across to Max

Then in Max find the scale required to enlarge this box back to 1m x 1m.

Fair enough, I suppose...I'll report back here with my findings soon enough.

You might want to check max unit settings. Long time i used max, but as any pro-tool it has an unit-grid setting. Might be yours is set to inch or an other sub metric unit.

Messiah 'trick' is ok, but i think you need to find the source problem instead of the work-around. Since O2 is set on meter (1m) i advice to work on the same unit in max (then it is just a mather of adjusting your o2 import setting to 1000:1000).

this doesn't work, and my 3d max unit set up is 1 meter..... And for some reason when i import stuff from O2 when units set up already, it makes my 3d max grid invisible....

I haven't tested yet, but i think is rather unlogic you would have to use a non 1XXX value to rescale the unit. Fact is, 99.999% sure, the O2 grid is 1mx1m. So the unit is a bit smaller then 2 grids in height.

I leave it up to the max users to help you out wink_o.gif.

Modo user here (for mapping), but O2 all the way to model (yup, still find this tool pretty decent for 'low' poly stuff). But i don't recall import/export scale problems with modo, so i don't see a direct problem versus max.

my settings:

O2 Export= 1:1000

O2 Import= 1:10

In max i use "inch" units, but you can use mm or cm too,if i'm not wrong.

With "meters" it's too small and impossible for me to work with this setting.

This is my first attempt and to be honest i'm lost with O2 for the moment, hope someone could confirm if this settings are good or no.

In the latest (second) release of O2PE, the export function is missing.

Is there any way to export from O2 into 3DSMax?

... except as IcebirdMK surreptitiously pointed out you could still use the previous O2 version when you want to just do an export to .3ds... and use the current version primarily...

If they don't reinstate the export function in the final version then it's quite simple to create a p3dm->3ds or maybe even a max plugin.
