B-C 0 Posted August 25, 2007 Not trying to make people upset out there but im just disappointed in BIS. I know a lot people out there have there ArmA working but there are still quite a few of us who have constant troubles with ArmA. Its disappointing to see that more effort is being put into making addons and new verions of ArmA like ArmA 2 then actually fixing the current game. I know BIS has to make money but still there has been no explanation to why ArmA has so many problems. I would be actually happy to hear BIS say 'sorry to those who are having trouble with ArmA but we just cant work out why some people are still having problems and thats why there are still people out there having problems' Im not saying the above statement is true, all im saying is i wish there was some honesty or at least some explaination. If they cant explain it then they should say they have no clue rather then just leaving a number of people being upset whilst continuing on to make new verions of ArmA I also can understand that they have worked hard in trying to fix the problems (and that some problems are to do with V.card drivers etc) however if there is no explanation in why people are still have problems then it just gets exhausting downloading he newest patch and getting excited at the fact they may has fixed it and then being disappointed once again. Im going to be weary in purchasing ArmA 2. I will be waiting to see if it actually works! before i go an buy it. If its the same old story like it has been with ArmA that in having above the minimum specs and not working properly then i wont buy it! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
BraTTy 0 Posted August 25, 2007 I can help sort some of this out. First of all IMHO Arma has a few bugs, some features not working etc... That is different than the problems people are having with new beta OS's and hardware which is causing some games to not work at all.Thats right Arma is not the only game with problems and not working. You think BIS can write a game that will work on OCT Core cpu's and Vista next gen and OS"s coming in the future. We are at a technology rise and it isn't Bis's fault.IBM standard is a thing of the past (Works fine on my laptop XP4000+ , x600 video card) edit: People should try out new computers to see if it will work with their games before they buy the computer and blame nvidia/ati/ms. Look in the troubleshooting and its obvious most all these problems are NEW hardware. You don't think Bis coded and tried the game on many computers ? For some reason I am irritated lately with the new wave of computer users , maybe I need a ban/pr for a month or two. I think I am helping some ,dunno This blame game is too much and I'll bet Bis wishes they were console coders at this point.Not a good time to be a programmer.Technology is changing fast Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
[asa]oden 0 Posted August 25, 2007 Considering ArmA has just as a useless armor system as OFP has, 43t main battle tanks popping up in the air driving onto small concrete thingys next to the road and most other arcadish features from OFP I wouldn't hold my breath for a big experience in ArmA II. Now we suckers have Beta Tested Arma, and Arma2 is about to come out Just like BF2142.. I wont be slapped in the face again and will not be buying Arma2 , i fell for the hype once and was bitterly dissapointed (I still play OFP over Arma not by choice but simply because OFP runs! I came back to this forum today in the hope that a new patch might be available, that perhaps people had ironed things out and i can finally run this game that has sat silent, unused on this PC for several months now.. But no, First thing i see is 'Arma 2' link, instant dissapointement hits me and then i find we are still only at patch 1.8 with a possible hotfix for those that want to risk it.
