MeNeZ 0 Posted July 18, 2007 The biggest problem I have with tactical slings, such as a 3 point, is that you can't effectively transition between right shoulder firing and left shoulder, which is a necessity at times. Great point! Only thing you can do is change to the sidearm to shoot lefty from cover. So...maybe the thread title should change to 1 point sling instead of 3? Either way, I hate the bloody length of time it takes to do an action that is sluggish and unnecessary.
dmitri 0 Posted July 19, 2007 The binoc implementation isn't great.. Though it's not the speed that bothers me, it's the sensitivity. Often find myself in a loop, taking them out, putting them back, then taking them out again. The not being able to walk while reloading or the slow transition to AT are topics as old as OFP. Leave this as is. Gotta forget about real world abilities in favour of gameplay balance. These are game mechanics designed to encourage tactics. A single AT unit with a well chosen bit of covering terrain can easily knock out a tank. Speed that AT movement up even slightly and players might not bother with cover: ArmA:BF. AT handling has sped up since OFP anyhow. Running is now possible (as opposed to shuffling about while crouched), and getting to safety after firing is very fast (go prone from AT, then switch to rifle). I always cringe when movement speed topics come up.. A game like OFP\ArmA needs to have it's movement speed compared to benchmark tactical games like older R6 titles pre-Lockdown\Ghost Recon 1. Simply positioning yourself on a ladder in R6:RS meant briefly watching the equivalent of an hourglass.
