martinovic 0 Posted July 3, 2007 I haven't seen a thread about this new tech before so i thought i'd make one... Basically a guy made a nice 3d demo for a game that clocks in at 96 KB. http://www.theprodukkt.com/faqmaking Quote[/b] ]while using traditional painting programs, fiver2 noticed that he only needs a few simple primitives and filters to create very realistic looking textures. he defined a set of operations and asked chaos to write a user interface where the artist can specify, modify and store these operations. in the 64k program, these stored operations are executed and the image is generated. Just a few hundred bytes are needed to specify a texture, and there are no compression artifacts. Check out the demo here: http://www.theprodukkt.com/kkrieger You need a good dx9 Graphics card to run it. It is not hiding any data anywhere, it really seems to be that small in size. I don't know if this belongs here but i thought i'd share this interesting new bit of technological development with you people here. Some screenies (hope they're under 100k, the game is lol!:
berghoff 11 Posted July 3, 2007 Quote[/b] ]this new tech before Well if i remember correctly there was something similar like this a few years ago, it ran very slow but its amazing how they managed to put it under 100kb .

redpride 0 Posted July 3, 2007 Yeah it's really something ain't it. I didn't believe it till I downloaded it (under a second) and played it...my comp was barely able to keep up with it's demanding graphics!

Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted July 4, 2007 wow thats freakin amazing how they do it?if only BIS knew their secrets I think it also had to do with the way textures are being intelligently reused over and over again.

bionic 10 Posted July 6, 2007 KKrieger is a few years old afaik they haven´t worked on it since release. It is only was meant to show of what is possible. If you like stuff like that you should check out one of the latest releases by Farbrausch it´s a Demo called debris very impressive. download I was also active in the demoscene had a great time with great people. We formed a small demogroup with an Ex-Member of Vectronix and soon we released our first 64k intro nothing special it was our first try but hey try to do the same in 64K Link Some virus scanners may flag the 64k versions as infected because it was packed with MuCruncher so if you are dared you can download the unpacked .exe here download If you want to see more of this you should check this site from time to time, there are all releases listet by date, party....
