(Yes ... it is hard shooting from a moving vehicle LOL ! )

All done with just script bits from UNN and WarWolf/Mr Flea smile_o.gif

UNN - 3D placement script

WarWolf/Mr Flea - Key capture script

Once you work out the relative 3D coordinates of where you want to be in the vehicle, you then "hold" them there with a fast loop that doesnt seem to affect fps. Its a very smooth ride.

Then using the normal A and D keys you can rotate left and right. Only really works well if your "Float Zone" slider is all the way to the right.

Later part of the video shows a chopper being attached to a moving ship. Same principle.

Works pretty well in SP, not sure what MP performance would be / could be, but I don't expect it will be so easy in MP.

I'll post some code once I tidy it up.

Demo missions - quick and dirty. Put them in your missions folder.

Haven't had much time to play further with them, and certainly not to do an MP solution yet. Thx for everyones comments ... and yours too UNN smile_o.gif

Oh, looks excellent. I was rather suprised to see the ship rock a bit with the UH-60 landed, nice to see vehicles can be locked onto things such as ships as well.

Not wasting any time in upgrading with the team eh Gnat? Congrats to all smile_o.gif

Nice work with the dir option, but with this method the spawend player lags horrible.

Nice... but there should be much more jiggle "gun shake" with vehicle roll smile_o.gif don't make this too easy as arcade-sniper-shooting.....

i have few questions for now:

will that script allow more players to shoot the variant vehicles (trucks and choppers)?

how will players be placed? can they move around in the vehicles? will they be able to fall from the vehicle?

please give us more information smile_o.gif

can't say i'm amazed. It was made even ib ofp just with a little more math wink_o.gif Now you can make it better adjusting unit position for vehicle tilt/bank with setvectorup/dir.

I guess that's what are you doing ? wink_o.gif Cause the screens provided on the first page can be made with 3-4 lines script...

Hmmm. Do the AI fire if they are the ones having the script called on them? I can see some Quake 4-esque shooting from the back of a flatbed 5T...
