Ghost recon models

Recommended Posts

Is it possible for someone to put the ghost recon models in flashpoint? (of course after the ghost recon(out with the misson pack) and flashpoint editing tools are out.) I just bought the game and the models and movements are amazing.

Adding the movements with the models (expecially the death animations) would also be nice.

mind my english, it's my 2nd language, and i'm not too good with it.

This is exactly what people playing GR(and who doesn’t like OFP) are saying about OFP smile.gif

About the models…ehh.. are you sure you haven’t got OFP and GR mixed up…

Those models are great…a lot more polygons used on them compared to the models in OFP…

to lifeless?….those models even breathe!

If anyone doesn't want GR, you can send it to me. I'll take it, no questions asked.

Now gimme my M-249 bis, and nobody gets hurt.

the models in it are quite lifeless and the animations floaty when compared to OFP. They breathe, but not like a human breathes, it looks fake. OFP's well animated, but slightly chunky models are better, in my opinion. Its also the terrible control system that makes GR feel unresponsive.

I´m not going to do the mistake comparing Ghost Recon to OFP - most OFP players are radical patriotics anyway (im not making myself free of that wink.gif), so it´s kinda useless to debate about it in this forum.

Those 2 games are different and play different, i enjoy both of them. However i find that the current OFP models are a little to skinny for my personal taste, they should eat better smile.gif. Adding a bit more mass to the right bodyparts would not only be eyecandy in terms of detail in the immediate surrounding- you would also be able to see a better silhouette across a greater distance, not shooting on "skelletons" anymore at 400m+.

Also adding some more items to the load bearing harness and assault vests (Blackops), or making them a bit bulkier.

This is of course my pers. oppinion.

GR sounds are pathetic, yes.

I really think GR is more tacical then OPF...i mean in OPF i can shoot my way out of anything , but in GR , u cant really do that , u need a 2nd team & teammates most of the time.

Strange how the US marines choose to use OFP based training simulator rather than ghost recon, hmmmmmm. Must be something to do with the fact the real tactical manouvers can be used and be as effective in game as they are on the ground.

Being X Army myself I vote OFP for realism, and i vote twice more if you add Satchels "ACE" sound pack.

You do know that the weapon sounds in GR are recordings of real guns that RSE did?

So hollywoodish...nah..dont think so. smile.gif

hey guys, i was only asking for an request, not a debate. so is anyone going to make the models? plus, i think you guys should end this ghost recon vs. flashpoint stuff.(I personally like them both equally if you guys were wondering smile.gif, but i do like the ghost recon models better mainly because they look bulkier and less skinny (like what satchel said)).  Trust me, ghost recon isn't as bad as what some people say it is. add gunslinger's mod and the new cold war campaign and you got yourselves a great game, possiblily as good as flashpoint. If you think ghost recon's graphics are bad, you have got to be kidding me. I think the graphics are darn great and with it the sounds. The command system is great too (If you know how to use it correctly tounge.gif.) And the controls are fine for me (not trying to put down anyone smile.gif). however, if i would have to choose between the two games, I would choose flashpoint for it's powerful editor, and it's high replay value.

****mind my english once again, it's my 2nd language. I'm not too good at it also biggrin.gif.

Yeah, I'm getting tired of all the comparisions as well. I enjoy both games. Right now I'm playing way more GR b/c I'm working my way through the campaign. I've never understood this whole 'my game is better than your game'. They are both pretty darn good, but if I had to choice just one, I would go with OFP just for it's expandablity and openness.

I just feel the need to defend the GR in this forum and I also defend OFP on the GR forum biggrin.gif

Think they are both great games! A true fan of realistic shooter should own them both!

My problem with GR isn't the graphics or animations, I hate the lack of control over your team. In OFP you can control your men down to some fine details, like where to set up, where to aim, who to target, where to stop, which men to move with you, etc, while in GR your team just follows along behind you like a lost puppy dog and sits out in the open.

I actually kind of prefer the GR graphics though. Just has shitty gameplay.

" A true fan of realistic shooter should own them both! "

well this true fan of realistic combat sims prefers seeing a weapon in his 1st person view. Now, there are many other reasons I would never buy GR, but if GR was perfect in every OTHER way, I still would never buy a game with no weapon in the 1st person view. After R6, I told my self that was the last time.

This is not to say GR isn`t a great "game". But I don`t get into combat sims for "games". I get into them for the immersion.

there is a mod for ghost recon that supposively lets you see your weapon (I got the news from the forums), however, it has been quite a while since the news, so it probably won't be released, like the unofficial landscape editor we have all been waiting for. I don't really mind the no-see-weapon thing, even though it is better when you do see the weapon, especially when you see through iron-sights and aim with it. As long as it's fun, i'll play it.

I know that the Ghost Recon command system isn't detailed, but it does work (for me anyways). If you want them to take cover, tell them to hold (defalt button = 4) of course they have to be next to vegetation biggrin.gif. if you want them to look at one direction, hold down the waypoint command and move your mouse to the direction of the area you want them to look at. I also move them from vegetation to vegetation at recon mode. They automatically hold when enemys are spotted, then i go to suppress to kill them. If you have the demo of Ghost Recon and is judging the entire game from that, trust me, the demo is crap compaired to the real game. the enviorments are more open (in the real game that is), it is more challenging, and there are more vegitation to hide in. plus, that level isn't even in the full game probably because it didn't live up to the standards. However, I do agree that you should have more command over the soldiers.
