Having carpet-bombing B52's would be pretty neat though. F2 Phantoms could be good for napalm perhaps.

Also, river-boats and long rivers are a must.

yes.. or "was"

knew old tracer that was partly modleader.. but thats it, and thats maybe 4 years ago..

Do you need TOW's help or just his permission to use his stuff, because I read in another thread (no idea wich) that if you are unable to contact an addon maker its allright to use his work, as long as long as you remember to give the right credits...

need permission, and it isn't right by the law but the community has "decided" that its ok and thats probaly what we in VTE will do.

He shared it once with VTE; so i am positive he wants to share it with VTE for ArmA. It doesn't make it 100% legal really..

but sometimes whats right isn't whats right smile_o.gif

I have some suggestions, you should reskin the racs, and use those for the GIs, they will look alot like real vietnam GIs.

-you should make sure to add napalm biggrin_o.gif

hopefully before the tools are released.

We haven't decided this yet really.. but my personal aim is to get this released.. "as is" and not wait for the "when its done".

So we working on deciding now what should be in a first release and what shouldn't.

Somethings can be kinda crappy quality but atleast everything we will include should be 100% working, and all done in code, so we later "just" have to add/replace models.

It would be nice, not terribly important if you could add that (don't know the name) larger boat that has a couple of MG's and a version with a helipad. (I think) CSJ made it for OFP. I like that boat because it can take a team of 12. In VTE 0.3 and older versions I missed a bit a boat that can take the whole team. Altough AA isn't limited to a team of 12, I'd still like to roam the jungle rivers with that boat. It has also some armor that can be raised/lowered. I don't speak about the first AA VTE version, it's about a somewhat extended version that isn't rushed.

EDIT: I wouldn't complain about going in two PBR's if the AI wouldn't be a crappy sailor.

Looking forward to VTE for arma (of course).

But as for character models (guys with guns), are these going to be ported over. Dunno much about it, but judging from the amount of little-green-dude-addons released so far, I'd guess that it's not as easy as porting over vehicles.

If so, are we going to be using reskins for the first while, until the (now infamous) tools get released?

Hey that looks pretty good for a re-texture of a modern unit. Just one question; are you going to use BIS values for weapon recoil, damage etc?

we gonna make our own values for sure, how much tweaking we will do for the first release I don't know, nor do I know in what direction we want to move it.

Personaly I am happy with most recoils and stuff in arma but you can follow that discussion at this thread:

M16 with 30 rounds mag and XMS with 20?

always known it the other way round.

both m16 and xms will come with the 20 round mag..

will include skavens m16a1 later on.. since he is working on the models I wait until we getting closer to release.

The Reskin looks good, but you should make multiple types of helmets.. Maybe a green metal one, with mesh over it, and one with a camoflauge fabric texture..

Look at this vid, it gives you good views of the uniforms and helmets... Plus it is a really asome clip biggrin_o.gif

As for weapon specs, I was hoping that we'd see a return of the good ol' high bullet dispersion - I had loads of fun in the jungle with bullets and stuff zipping all over the place in the original. With default BIS values, it would make for some much shorter and bloodier battles due to aimbotting AI, which (in my opinion) isn't really the way to go.

100,000 rounds per kill and some mad minutes, that's the stuff!

I would help If I could... I could build house models, the only problem Is that I do not know how to add all of that stuff to armed assault..

one last thing, you should reskin the SLA to make the NVA soldiers.
