Redface,

I'm pretty new to this myself, but I think you'll find the shuttle is only there to extract you back to base once you've finished the mission. You still have to get yourself out to the task using the transport available to a player of your rank.

The shuttle is more an emergency evac vehicle, than a taxi.

For that it works well, but it`s really no taxi.

Further to my last, after a few hours of this I've now reached Captain whilst simultaneously adding to my already-excessive collection of grey hairs.

By way of feedback, with 0.13 I've had the following occurrences:

- While clearing one town to the south, I sent an AI team back to the airfield to replen. On the way they clipped the grey zone around Paraiso, and shortly afterward I was sent the congratulatory message telling me Paraiso was clear and giving me the code.

- On visiting Paraiso subsequently (to blow up the comms mast, and to capture the officer) I encountered several squad leaders who continuously respawned (after intervals of a few minutes) and allowed themselves to be picked off. I also noticed many BMP, BRDM and even a T72 lying on their sides, still showing as active on the radar.

- When returning aforementioned captives to the PoW camp, as soon as they de-planed from the helicopter they were shot by the guards (one of whom seemed to have already been wounded).

- Whilst driving another PoW in a Coyota pickup truck, I was fired upon by my own team members. I did notice shortly before this that my icon on the map was red...

Still, all-in-all this mission is great fun and a stunning way to lose a few hours between air-ambulance call-outs (my day job).

I'm still waiting for some translations, and I still have to write the documentation, but once that is done it will probably be released "officially".

The issue with POWs has been discussed before (see page 10):

Quote[/b] ]Another ArmA bug, where captured units lose their captivity status as soon as they enter a vehicle. (Which also keeps you from entering a vehicle once the captured units are in there.)

The best workaround for that is to either tell your units to hold their fire (when it's time to collect POWs you don't have to worry about enemies anyway), or move your guys into vehicles first, and out of them last. That way they never actually "see" the POWs in the vehicles, and won't shoot at them.

As far as the occasional empty city is concerned - I've tried everything I could to reproduce this, but to no avail...

Either the people who are still reporting this somehow got a incorrect version, or it only happens in very unique circumstances that I don't have reproduction steps for.

So if you do have this problem, just download the mission once more, and if it still happens, see if you can get it to happen in a reproducible setup, and then PM me those steps.

As a suggestion, it'd probably be nice to have a transport at the beginning - as a private, it's very hard to get to some missions, because they're sometimes generated very far away (and across several hostile cities.) It's not a problem for me, but it did happen a few times that the mission was generated in the north parts of Sahrani, when Corazol was still not clear and I only had access to trucks. There was no way to make it on time.

As a possible solution, you can probably see if the player has access to North Sahrani and if no, generate missions only in the south.

I saw some questions regarding this but I haven't seen the answer yet.

The first 2 towns i've attacked were empty. As I approached from the ground I received a Objective accomplished and received points for it. I have the most recent version and it still did it. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

That's possible, I haven't tried it. It doesn't matter for me, I'm already colonel, so I have access to mostly anything (I guess.) And in the beginning I didn't care about the missions, I just started cleaning the cities - that was a lot of fun (and a lot of getting shot, too. smile_o.gif )

I was wondering if anyone has been able to use the 6thSense.eu tracer addon with Evolution? Every time I try to load a saved game I crash to desktop. From what I understand this has something to do with the large number of global variables being used by the mission and the tracer addon. the only other addon i use is modwarsound. Has anyone out there managed to successfully save games while using the tracer addon and Evolution? Or am I going to have to ditch the tracers until BIS sort out the global variable bug?

Kronzky, thanks for your reply to my previous post; I thought I'd read the pages here exhaustively but obviously missed the bit on page 10 about captives. Incidentally, putting your squad onto "hold fire" doesn't work - probably because of the perceived threat to your team AI owing to the close proximity of the "enemy" vehicle.

Have just downloaded v0.14.1 and will give it a go once my household chores are all done. That'll be sometime around September, then... crazy_o.gif

Before I restart, I must just get to Colonel first though - I've not managed to write down a single one of the codes for any rank after Sgt whistle.gif

Can you please PM me the third code? I forgot to write it down. I'm gonna restart the mission and see if that corrects the problems I've been having. I thought I could remember the codes but I can't. I'd hate to start completely from the begnning again.

Unfortunatly I seem to remember that the codes are tied into your user name and so are specific to you. sad_o.gif

I wrote my codes on my desk in pencil.....accidently rubbed first digits off, so im in the same boat as you smile_o.gif

Ah well, at least it gives us more practice :0

Hi, first time poster, let me say I really like this map, but I do have a few problems, firstly and most majorly my radio disappears after a little while of playing which makes it impossible to call in a helo or put in codes, and secondly I sometimes find that everyone in every citiy completely disappears sometimes much like someone said above and I have to restart, which sucks if the radio has disappeared and I can't put in codes to restore my rank and such. and thirdly I'm having trouble climbing up ladders, once I reach the top/bottom my character doesn't want to step off the ladder and I am forced to re-attach to the ladder and jump down to get off

any help would be appreciated,

TrentA If the radio disappears hit 0-0, then the radio choices will appear. We are having the same problems here. I'm still hoping to find my first 3 rank codes though.

I ran into the "city clear" problem with 0.14. (I just saw that 0.14.1 is up.) I uploaded a save game to show the problem here.

To see the problem, just drive the tank forward ~10m - the mission will display the city clear message. If you go to the map (before triggering the problem), you'll see one of the shilkas in the city, but it's blue, not red.

I also noticed (not sure how important/accurate it is), that the problem seems to come after clearing two cities in a row. It seems to me that I always encountered the problem that way, but I'm not 100% sure.

And a few feature requests for future versions:

* Can you add wandering enemy groups to the map? A few enemy groups would be nice, since the whole map is empty, aside from the generated missions and the cities.

* It'd be nice to have some civilians around, so that all the town are not like ghost towns - they could drive around in cars/buses, use some trucks, etc. I don't know how much strain this'd put on the savegame, though.

* Additional mission type ideas: guard base/factory against infantry/spec ops/tanks; escort convoy (between cleared cities; get ambushed); assasinate target (in heavily guarded area); repel enemy attack on cleared city.

Radio and ladder issues - These are both ArmA bugs. Not much I or anybody else here can do about it...

Empty cities - I need exact reproduction steps before I can do anything about it (a saved game doesn't help me much as I don't know what got the game to the buggy stage, and I'm also not able to analyze what's going on during the game if I can't re-play it in the editor).

It must have something to do with how some of you are playing the game (which is obviously very different from how I play it, since I've done several sessions that lasted a few days each, and never once run into this problem).

So, as I said, I need step-by-step instructions as to what I have to do to reproduce this situation in the editor, otherwise I could be spending weeks poking around randomly...

Improvements & Modifications - The goal of this SP-conversion has always been to stay as closely as possible to the original MP game, and only make modifications that compensate for the lack of other players (or that are technically necessary). Other than that there will be no changes to the mission.

Well, since I played for hours, it's very hard to try to reproduce it. In general, I haven't played any side missions yet, just recruited 7 soldiers and started taking over each city.

I started this run by entering the colonel code, then codes for the following cities: Paraiso, Corazol, Somato, Cayo and Dolores. I then packed a truck with a lot of equipment, loaded my 7 men and headed out to take over other cities.

In this particular run, I took over Ortego and Obregon, by eliminating almost every enemy unit in these cities. No POWs were captured (shot them on sight) and I haven't gone back to the main camp. At Ortego, I refilled my supplies at the small camp and then headed for Obregon.

When Obregon was clear, I went back to Corazol to pick up a tank (refilled supplies at the harbor base) and left for Bagango. At both Ortegon and Obregon, I shot down the enemy KA several times (10+.) When I could, I shot enemy armored vehicles, so that the crew leaves and then I used the vehicle for my purposes. Noticed, that most enemy armor has no ammo when I jump in.

Nothing during the game showed any hints of problems, but when I reached Bagango, I immediately got the error. And based on other posts, I'm not the only one.

As I said, it seems to me that clearing two cities in a row triggers the problem.

One other (minor) problem that I noticed (not sure if it's even related): the friendly spy plane shows on the map in a completely different position from its white circle.

Maybe it's not the problem of the mission but a conflict with @ModWarSound.

I run in to this problem again after cleared two cities and this time I didnt used any jets/choppers, I've entered third city by M113 and Vulcan (drived by AI) and loaded with a lot of ammo and guns.

This is a pretty minor request, but I was wondering if it would be possible to add the option to select whether you start as a normal soldier or special forces soldier? It seems a bit odd to start as a special forces soldier and be leading normal grunts.

I also didn't receive a password when I was promoted to major playing version 0.14. Is this a bug, or is it deliberate?

That was a bug that snuck in in 0.14.

Should be fixed now.
