Unleashed2k 0 Posted May 25, 2007 Well, its time for this to be discussed. There are plenty of macros you can setup in game..also there are alot of applications for the g15, but when searching for ArmA, theres no hits. No configurations, no applications...nothing.. But there are tons of possibilities...
abs 2 Posted May 25, 2007 I was wondering the same thing. Abs
BlackScorpion 0 Posted May 25, 2007 Ze Logitech (IIRC) superkeyboard, if I'm not mistaken. LEDs and stuff, kinda like Saitek X52 but a... keyboard.
kronzky 5 Posted May 25, 2007 I guess he's referring to Logitech's gaming keyboard:
FWF.Osteo 0 Posted May 25, 2007 No, this is a gaming keyboard! Great for ArmA...  I love it but I can't say I've tried the G15.  Its the Zboard (www.zboard.com). Just razzing you Unleashed (he's FWF as well..)
celery 8 Posted May 25, 2007 G15 doesn't have special features for the game but nevertheless it has better feel to playing and writing than any previous keyboard I have used. The LCD is wasted on me, the lite version with no display would have been enough but I didn't pay for this pimp toy anyway.
JohnMalcolm1970 0 Posted May 25, 2007 It's great with the Teamspeak addon. I now don't have to use Teamspeak Overlay to see who's talking... it just comes up on the LCD.
NeMeSiS 11 Posted May 25, 2007 No, this is a gaming keyboard!). Just razzing you Unleashed (he's FWF as well..) http://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif' alt='wink_o.gif'> IMO that thing looks terrible for ArmA. You need almost all your buttons, and this keyboard spreads them out everywhere with alot of empty space in between which means you cannot reach all of them conveniently with 1 hand. lee_h._oswald 0 Posted May 25, 2007 Having the G11 here... ... but I'm not using the macro function. Not really found a good use for this function. MfG Lee
crashdome 3 Posted May 25, 2007 I think the reason that there is no support is because there seems to be either a lockdown on any type of external communication (i.e. dumping data to the LCD display - or any other device) OR they haven't addressed any such idea publicly. I am looking into ways to retrieve data and with another intermediate app, I could see getting LCD info. As of right now, there is nothing I am aware of that we could use except taking the error log and putting that on the display What would be really cool would be the command menu on the display or the status of your squad. Kamarov 0 Posted May 25, 2007 I have the G15 and mostly love it. I went searching for apps for ArmA, but couldn't find anything either. After using the G15 for a few months, I think its LCD is still best as a status screen for CPU usage and BW usage and as a great alternative to the TS Overlay, plus you can still chat on instant messengers while in-game. I thought the LCD was a gimmick at first, but I have grown to find it one of the most useful peripherals on my computer. I use the macros occassionally, but when I've needed them they have saved my butt (they even saved me hours of typing on a project once).
Snots 0 Posted May 26, 2007 Might be usefull for GPS readout if it supported it...speed, closure rate, distance, position.

You need almost all your buttons, and this keyboard spreads them out everywhere with alot of empty space in between which means you cannot reach all of them conveniently with 1 hand. Well I love it. Â Remember all keys can have a single strike and a double strike action. Â My hand rarely leaves the butterfly pad on the left. Â Also, as a huge geek, I use Shoot http://clans.gameclubcentral.com/shoot/ which is a freeware voice activation program similar to Game Commander and can issues almost any command by voice only... mosh 0 Posted May 26, 2007 Quote[/b] ]Might be usefull for GPS readout if it supported it...speed, closure rate, distance, position. That would be great. I have the G15 also and would like to see the LCD used for more stuff also. Maybe squad info, score, weapon loadout with ammo count, etc... Right now I mainly use Fraps with it but will try the teamspeak one for sure. I will be sure to update this if I find anything useful for Arma. ***Edit - Here's a few links for various G15 stuff: http://www.g15mods.com/ http://www.g15forums.com/index.php http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logitech_G15 Mosh
Jas0n 0 Posted October 2, 2008 I take it nothing has more has been found out about using the G15 with ArmA? I was reading into the Armalib lastnight and was thinking that maybe could be used to make a program for it? I think all we need are the memory addresses where ArmA stores the data i.e. direction, location, ammo etc... Jase
SnR 1 Posted October 2, 2008 Some Plugin Great links above i found this within the Wiki can anyone work it out Edit: once inside you will find more info on TS,Fraps etc
Jas0n 0 Posted October 2, 2008 Actually putting the information to the LCD screen isn't the problem. The problem is trying to find certain information within the game.
rundll.exe 12 Posted October 5, 2008 I guess ArmAlib + the scriptlink (working wiht c++) should do the job for you. But then it would require some ArmA player with scripting/c++ skills AND a G15 keyboard...
SnR 1 Posted October 5, 2008 Keeping with the Arma theme inregards to the G15, just going through Mosh's Links i found this guy who has a different love for the keyboard. And of course i had to submit links for him to produce these great Keyboard Overlays G15 - Forums
walker 0 Posted October 5, 2008 Hi all I still think this is the ultimate ArmA Rig Here is the info on that board http://www.ideazon.com/uk/products/mercgamingkeyboard.asp There is even an illuminated version comming out. http://www.ideazon.com/uk/products/mercstealth.asp As well as the FANG keyboard used by the military! http://www.ideazon.com/uk/products/fanggamepad.asp IMHO they are state of the art in Kboard control of FPS. Lester 0 Posted October 6, 2008 Are the last n-posters don't think that they are a "little" huge offtopic to the threadname ? It's called g15 (at two times ! ), i can't see any reference to other alternative keyboards here. Â
