Tovarish 0 Posted July 16, 2007 After the show I dropped in on some friends from Quebec for a bit of jamming and more than a bit of alcohol. Myself on a friend's bass: Lovely percussionists:

DaSquade 0 Posted July 19, 2007 Finally decided to tread myself and buy me a new digi cam. I come from a HP (godknewswhatmodelfromwhatyear)... After some guides from my local shop, i went for the Nikon D40x with the 18-55 and 55-200 lens (kit). Still very new and noob, but at least managed to take some shot today. Let the learning begin . (not sure what the max. allowed number of pics are....)
wex-q 0 Posted July 19, 2007 I think it's 6 per post. Really good looking images especially the first one! @AimPoint: The first pic was soo cool!
DaSquade 0 Posted July 19, 2007 Pic of my (selfmade) custom bass: Lot of crap pics i guess, but learning. So any advice is welcome... PS: As i'm more into macro shooting, i'm wondering if it would be worth the money to purchase me a good macro lens. Forgot to write down the info the shop gave me, but prices where around +600€ for one of Nikon itself or maybe it was +-900€ for the Nikon instead of the sigma . the_shadow 0 Posted July 19, 2007 i love the pics! especially the first 3-4 ones are great really good job.. and yes, if you like macro photo you should defenitly buy a proper macro lens... for a Nikon camera Nikkor lenses are always best, but if you just cant afford one or cant wait a while until you can you can always buy a different brand, just make sure that the lens has the correct mounting so that it fits your Nikon personally i love animal and "action" (sports) photography so im currently looking for a really nice telezoom or superzoom lens... or maybe a converter for my current Sigma 70-300 APO the alternatives for a converter is the Sigma 50-500 (Bigma) or something similar... anyone got a tip? (yes, i use a Nikon too)
Ranger Bob 0 Posted July 19, 2007 Dasquade, excellent shots - especially for a "nooby"! I think they look very professional. Sniper, Amazing shots! very good atmosphere and technically brilliant! Is no-one going comment on mine? I thought they were ok.
killagee 0 Posted July 20, 2007 Awesome pics everyone. Especialy you sniper... Well done! Ranger Bob I cant find your pics to comment? I have spent 6 days of last week at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford in the UK (Sniper looks like you took some good pics mate). I was there for three arrival days, 2 public days and 1 departure day... Bloody awesome week! Instead of making the pics very lo-res to fit on this board, I am going to try this clickable thumbnail thing... What do you guys think? To see more of my images from this air show go here: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums....0-%20UK Enjoy! Edit... Na cant get it to work... I will just do it the old way yes? DaSquade 0 Posted July 20, 2007 @RangerBob: Since i'm noob, don't expect any professional comment beside 'great-crispy' pics etc. But some very good ones between them. Good inspiration for me, as i see i need to work on my lighting more i suppose witch are perfect in yours.... Some for all (or 99%) of the others pics. Keep it up. @Killagree: Personally i prefure thumbnails here (but that is me beeing lazy to surf...). If not mistaken you need to use the following code to make the thumbnail + link working: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">http://www.url-of-your-low-res-pic.jpg[/img] Hope it works... Anyway, although i love your dreamy beach and other pics (wish i had that kind of scenery nearby to shoot), i can dig some airshow pics. Some very good ones between them.
