bionic.. that looks like a scene from a game biggrin_o.gif

very nice use of HDR effects...

and i agree to what reador said... generally i dont like HDR as most are way overdone and just looks silly...

but a well done HDR can be great..

like your museum HDR wich looks like a screenshot from a game smile_o.gif

My complete Leica getup, sorry for the camera porn, but I can't resist photographs of and with my new darling Leica.

And indeed, HDR is a wonderful technique - Especially when  used to give an image a wide, but still "natural" tonal range similar to colour negative film.

blockquote><p>Haha, Leicas are always welcome. Some time ago I saw that there are even digital Leicas. Pretty expensive, of course, but theyhttp://forums.bistudio.com/oldsmileys/wink_o.gif' alt='wink_o.gif'>

I have taken the pic at the Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung in Koblenz maybe you have been there? It´s a great museum 3 or 4 floors packet with military stuff definitely a place to visit. thumbs-up.gif

No, never heard about that, but seems like it's definitely worth a look! smile_o.gif

BTW, technical question: Are you guys doing your HDRs with or without tripod? In general, I don't like HDRs too much, as they always are looking a bit artificial, but then, on the other hand, they're sometimes just amazing. I'll just start making some... (Here's a good german video comment about HDRs: http://kwerfeldein.de/index.php/2008/09/09/hdr-meine-meinung-dazu/)

Hey raedor first thanks for the Link pretty interesting and informativ.

On the HDR question yes i use the tripod its a crappy one but its doing its job biggrin_o.gif

Normaly i don´t use HDR on my pictures but it is a nice toy to play with.

Hmh... time to get a new camera I guess, seeing as my 400D isn't usable anymore (along with the lense). Could get 50D body for a tad over the price of the 450D kit, or a 450D or a 40D for their respective prices... or alternatively could save for a 5D (Mk2) or cross into other brands (D300/700 spring into mind, mainly). Ideas? The 50D does look good with the sRAW1 (7.1 MPix) low-light performance, though.

What happened to your 400D and its lens? 5D II is a bit expensive, but if you have the money for it, why not? smile_o.gif

Did some night shots a few days ago...

I finally found good use for the live view feature of the EOS 450D: zooming in and adjusting sharpness when in manual focus mode! Very usefull, as modern DSLRs lack the manual focusing aids of old analog DSLRs and it's therefore very hard manually adjusting sharpness even in excelent lightning conditions....

i just looked through some of the rally photos i have taken during 2008 and stuck to this one wich i then edited a bit in PS as it was really crap from the start

a tad bigger then 100k i reckon....

from the start it was over exposed and full of dust on the sensor (go figure, it was dusty like hell)

so with a little bit of cropping, rotating and editing i think it got really nice..

oh, and yeah... i KNOW the editing is´nt perfect but i didnt spend too much time on it....

That looks great. With the editing, I think it looks a bit like a video game, GT4 to be specific

Wow, excellent pictures guys.

I never realised Vienna was so flat.

Yap, it is pretty flat, only the nothern and western outskirts are a bit wavy, but the center and eastern/southern part (with the Danube) are just flat.
