Well, personally I started being complimented on my photos when I learned the rule of thirds, so if you haven't yet - look that up! Otherwise, if you have a camera that takes manual settings, and my last comment seems like very basic advice, check out this site:

Hmmm, yeah, inspiration can be tough. Just take a walk around town with your camera and try to capture something unusual, or something ordinary from an unusual perspective.

Nice! A bit dark, but looks like you had some tough lighting conditions to work with.

yeah...

it was either too early or too cloudy.. cant tell wich..

had it been darker some shots might have looked better..

hadnt it been total overcast it would have been much lighter, but then i would hav had a much shorter shutter speed, and i wanted it to be long so...

i´ll do another try tomorrow or next weekend...

Nice one but its not the original. ( click for the original )

Keep it up, good photos.

If you open your eyes and stay off-site the typical tourist routes you will find the nicest places here.

Also a insider tip is the Gardens of the World.

Killagee, those Berlin shots are amazing - I wish I'd gone out at night for photos when I was there!

Sad news for me though. After buying a brand new lens, which cost me £300, my shutter mirror broke... I've been taking pics on manual focus but haven't really had the time to get out enough!

*Saves money for the 30D*

EDIT: Played around just now whilst bored:

Sorry to hear about your Mirror RangerBob... Is that a flame being blowen off a lighter? Its awesome!

The band I was touring with played three nights at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, so I had ample opportunity to get out on onto the street and photograph some of the action… What a great vibe there! The old town in Edinburgh is just beautifuland makes for a stunning backdrop to the festival.

Anyone got any suggestions for an image editor? Got few pretty nice images lurking around, but PS Elements 2 just lacks few useful features, such as curve editing. Just brightness and contrast... doesn't give the right effect to the image. The Canon Digital Photo Professional (provided with the camera) seems to have it for RAW images, atleast, but well... it seems to be automatic.

No, I haven't tried GIMP or new trial versions of Photoshop yet. Preferably, the "something" should be easy-to-use (not much harder than PS), and free.
