WIP: stuff you are working on!

Recommended Posts

Means if you are coming from the south the bearing is 36 and coming from north it is 18 (the other end of the runway).

he already did - the southern end of the runway should say 36 and the northern end of the runway should say 18.

looks great thus far. It will be nice to roam Everon again.

Thanks guys. I'm working on the cockpit at the moment for the Kamov. No too many references, but I hope it'll be on par with the Hind. For the weapons, I'll probably reuse what I did for the Hind, but thanks for the offer.

My only gripe is that anytime I start a new project, I learn that BIS will make a better one for Arma 2 (Mi24, Ka52)... Though these were pretty obvious choices to begin with.

EricM,

Is there a chance to see realistic flight model for Ka-52? In Arma Ka-50 behaves just like a regular chopper (Mi-24, Cobra, etc. ), but Ka-50/52 can also fly sideways just as good as forward or backwards. This is something you never can experience with BIS stuff.

@bospor : I don't think so... I suck at config, so I'll probably just hack the KA50 config to make a workable turret and leave the FM as it is.

Maybe someone else...

ok just to update my latest work(im a hermet) i have been busy with many projects for many mods. one of the projects is still in the vein of middle eastern opfor, so i will post those now.

mecivs8.jpg

theres a lot to be done still, alot of which is obvious, im going to create a wider variety of faces, clothes and shemags. even as i type this ive changed a lot.

I could use some help getting my models out of o2 and into the game, i have lots of units, most are in the 90% finished stage , but alas i dont know much past o2 and photoshop.

anyway thanks for the interest.

The uniforms in your video seem a little clean. I think you could get a lot more out of the textures by adding a clothy texture to them. Also, the colours seem very pastel, especially in shadow. Do you have the rvmat file set up correctly?

Looking great, gents.

coma73, the opfor look pretty cool. I was wondering if in time you would consider also editing them or something to use as civilians as well? That's an area that I think is still very lacking, especially in light of all these mid-eastern maps and stuff. Everyone seems to forget the civvies these days, hehe. tounge2.gif

Is there much point in making civvies? I mean, sure it'd be nice to have cities full of civilians for some atmosphere, but it would cause serious lag with little being added to the actual gameplay. Besides, surely when a battle is expected most civvies have quit the town/village/city anyway or remain in doors?

of course there'sa point in making civilians. Half the premise of an insurgency is that its hard to distinguish between enemy combatants and civilians, and also their ability to disgard their weapons and blend in with the civilians.

From a personal point of view, and also a view shared by those I play MP with, its far more immersive and tense when you enter a mission area and have to be careful with who you shoot at, rather than instantly knowing that anythign running around is the enemy.

It adds far more than just 'eye candy'.

KH-29T missile work in progress.

I'm expecting problems with the trasparency of the glass cover for the TV-guide device, hope to solve them soon  confused_o.gif

Fair 'nuff, I'm not saying civvies don't add atmosphere and a need for checking your targets, but how would you put civvies into a reasonably sized city map (say Opteryx's Avgani) and managed to balance the numbers of them (so as to not make the place seem like a ghost town) and not have appalling lag? In my experience of using civvies, the greater the number of civvies, the smaller the active unit sizes. Fine if your missions are for small units anyway, but not for platoon + armour or company sized engagements. Lag city I've found.

i agree with both statements, but these are more than just atmosphere, they can be used as insugants, or to be played as rebels, whatever. and dont shoot me down too hard since i have european, asian, and eastern europeans on the way... huh.gif
