Col. Faulkner 0 Posted August 26, 2007 What's made only in new O2? I think that Cessna aeroplane is ported from "Microsoft Flight Simulator", isn't it?
Guest RKSL-Rock Posted August 26, 2007 nice , good to see something made only in new O2 It not made in O2. Gnat said some time ago it was an import from FS2004. @ Gnat if you do get the damage system working i'd love to know how. All my attempts so far has looked awful! Blackbuck 9 Posted August 26, 2007 nice , good to see something made only in new O2 <gripe> On this forum alone that seems to be all you think about let alone our native .info ones. Just because o2 has been released It doesn't mean that we can't model in othe programs then finish off things in o2. Which is what some of us were doing before the new o2 came out. </gripe>
MehMan 0 Posted August 26, 2007 Quick update on my Sdkfz, refining interior. Don't think I'll progress much more than this, I'll add the rest with textures. Planning to make the viewports fully animated using the turnout option.
Blackbuck 9 Posted August 26, 2007 Looks nice. Any ideas camo wise like the normandy stuff or just plain grey?
MehMan 0 Posted August 26, 2007 A desert camo first.
JdB 151 Posted August 26, 2007 Looks nice. Any ideas camo wise like the normandy stuff or just plain grey? Well, in his signature it reads "Burning Sands: Africa '42, An Armed Assault mod". My guess is for desert brown/yellow A mesh render of the front wheel of the 250 (have only started on the vehicle, so not much to show at this point besides this spare wheel): Edit: took a while to make the render, Mehman beat me to it

nephilim 0 Posted August 27, 2007 y do you guys render wireframes... just make screenshots of the viewport...
Guest Posted August 27, 2007 y do you guys render wireframes... just make screenshots of the viewport... I guess because we are guys? Sorry Jenny, but the reason why we render wire frames is for us to know and for you to find out funny question to ask considering you are using 3d apps and very well know that a wireframe can be displayed in differnt ways. Why should someone post a jumble of lines when he can have a clearer more easy to see pic for others to see. Not everyone can decypher two sided wireframes with all the overlapping..... Here is a clearly readable sentance. or hhheeeer ehhzzz hay! Cluhhrearlee ruhhee duh bull you get the point.
Col. Faulkner 0 Posted August 27, 2007 I'm slightly more curious as to why someone would model [some of] the treads on a tyre when that sort of thing cries out to be normal mapped. Real SdKfz 250 front tyres had a much denser tread pattern than this model has. WW2 AFV rivet-counters spot these sort of things right away.

That tire if unwrapped correctly in uvw could get a cage made for it in 3d and exported inot a normal map. Without a high res tire you can always fake where the treads are, but very unlikely can you fake it in photoshop with the same results. As far as having 5 of these tires on a vehicle.... quite a large amount of geometry.. if the distance lods are well done... then that tire can can go from 1000 faces to 100 faces and should be a smooth transition...so shouldnt be to hard on the cpu when in the distance. @APSGNAT Awesome plane! datakill 1 Posted August 27, 2007 Hi I'm currently working on the french foreign legion paratroopers (2nd REP) with the Crionyk weapons pack -beta- Just tell me what you think
Blackbuck 9 Posted August 27, 2007 The guy on the bottom left is sleeping for one . For a simple reskin the camo looks very good IMHO. Regards Mark.
datakill 1 Posted August 27, 2007 The guy on the bottom left is sleeping for one . True, he was punished for the whole night cause he refused to shave his ugly moustache. Too tired to pose for a capture now.

JdB 151 Posted August 27, 2007 y do you guys render wireframes... just make screenshots of the viewport... Because: 1. It takes just as much time (actually less since I just hit F9/F10); 2. I have a button to save the image directly, instead of having to open an image editor and recutting the image (which I did do in this exceptional case anyway, since the object is identical in width and height).
