Le++ 0 Posted May 9, 2007 Le++: I'm not sure I follow. If you are standing and in the middle of a reload and your mate drops from a shot from a sniper, your immediate reaction would be either to drop to the ground, or sprint evasively to the nearest cover. This is a perfect example of why you would not want the game to force you to continue standing there for those precious seconds reloading as if nothing in the world were happening. I meant about your suggestion to use the change stance buttons to interrupt reloading. If you are standing and reloading, but need to interrupt it (like in the example I gave), your suggested control will not work properly - you'll have to crouch/prone and than run for cover? I think that a break-animation control would be the best: moving to interrupt is to sensitive; stance change is not that practical (and certainly unrealistic); sprinting (as opposed to simply walking) might be a good idea, since you probably wouldn't need to interrupt a reload unless you are in a dire situation. Silvio Camolesi 0 Posted May 9, 2007 Sorry, I had no patience (in fact I have not much free time) for read everything the people post here, but in response to the first post that opens this thread, I agree that a little more control over the movement should be considered by the developers. Really this community should support these suggestion, cause if we do not do this, the devs keep thinking that everything is fine, and sure it is not so fine that cannot be improved. I think we all here love this game, but we are obligated to keep our mind opened One of the problems mentioned does not proceed in my opinion. I can lie too quickly when running. It is easy: you just release the "W" key and press "Z" after. If you push the "Z" down before release "W", then you will give 2 or 3 more steps before lie, as said by Stagger Lee. But this is not wrong and considering you have the option to go down fast with the technique I said, it is in fact a good idea for many moments. Sometimes you really need "to dive" into a bush, what is different of just lie. For do that, you just need to previse your move, and release the "W" key some meters before you reach the point you aim. But, no matters if there is a solution and it is good or not, there are some things that could be better, and the suggestion given is right in certain points. max power 21 Posted May 9, 2007 what about more control for helicopters? The controls for the collective are horrible with everything else than a keyboard -_- . The x52 is an excellent joystick. I highly recommend it. I know i own one myself, but even the cheapest helicopter game is offering to map the collective to the thruster axis properly. Seems arma was designed with keyboard users only in mind :/ What are you talking about? I have increase thrust and decrease thrust mapped to throttle lever up and down respectively. It works beautifully.

Yeah, mine (TM Cougar) does too. It's a pity though that we no longer have the ability to map the the throttle for planes separately, like it was done in OF:P - it feels pretty weird to pull the throttle lever to increase thrust and vice versa

Only game that i play with it, is T-72 Balkan on fire... Yeah it a tank sim, which doesn't allow me to turn turret and elevate cannon by mouse. in that game it's cool thing: Gives some challenge. But: That joystick is lousy piece of sh*t in flightsims... As it is never in exact center-point so jet/chopper always wanders to some undesired direction. Mouse and keyboard-combination is much better.
JeRK 0 Posted May 9, 2007 I laugh every time there's a "death delay" as I call it. Let's say you just shot a lethal mass of bullets at your target. He says "Wait, let me reload quickly!" because he just started reloading after getting the lethal lead poisoning. "OK, I'm done now!" *Falls down and dies*

The only times I have a problem with getting stuck reloading is when I want to run to cover or duck down, so making it so when you activate Sprint or change your Stance would work..there's a few ways to accomplish it if they had the mind to. Hopefully they'll look into it, or even a mod would be fine.
