Because the company unlike the mod community, does not have endless hours with a clean schedule without worry or spending money or wasting it to get the job done.

There is a possibility the code could have been faulty and not have worked well online, why bother having a feature such as that originally?

Possibly similar to the communities made "Cargo" script in which utility class helicopters could carry around light vehicles and even some APC's. It worked nicely in single player, but in multiplayer it was very jittery.

It could also have been a promotional trick, such as how Armed Assault supports multiple axis points for turning objects, Armed Assault's M1A1 had one commander machine gun, the 50 cal, whereas VBS2 has the 50 cal and loaders M240. Then again that is BIA, not BIS, similar but not quite the same. Different locations if I remember right..

But yes the images look quite promising, I believe I already know what I'll see, but I'm waiting to see anyway, kind of curious as to why things look so..err..saturated in the images. Ah I guess thats not important.

What we have here is nothing more than a simple setPos loop. This won't work for helicopters, or anything else that doesn't stay completely level (and I don't mean with reference to the ground, I mean completely level in 3d space, so that excludes driving on any hills or any inclines). It also doesn't allow the unit to sit down or use any cargo/crew animations. And worst of all is that the unit isn't actually in the vehicle crew, so it has little practical use and is limited to vehicles with large open spaces where the unit can just stand unobstructed. Don't get excited, we could do this in OFP too (and some did), and it was just as impractical then as it is now.
