nate77 0 Posted April 22, 2007 Well I've been playing around with the new demo trying to solve this for the last month and a bit, and now I think i've found a decent solution. Now this is not a full fix(reason why is because the game doesn't look as good), but turning the texture option to low seems to work. With the old demo(ver. 1.03) there was no fix for this, only turning the textures to very low(extremely ugly), and I pretty much gave up. The new demo(ver. 1.06) had the same problem, but after some testing I realized the textures could be set to low(not that ugly) and there was no more lego textures or any low res pop-ups. Plus the game runs extremly smooth. Now I know the full game is only at version 1.05 so this probably won't work for that until 1.06. The downside to this is the way the game looks with textures set to low, but I can tell you that it definatly looks better then the even lower resolution textures flashing and poping up everywhere. And the block-like wheels and the completely tanned, texture-less soldier models are gone also. I actually got to fully enjoy the demo for the first time today. It's a lot of fun actually playing and not having to worry about graphic problems. NOTE:I have a 7800 GS OC(486/1425) 256 MB AGP card. Make sure your other settings arn't too high or else you still might get problems. Here's my settings: Resolution: 1024x768 Veiw Distance: 1200 Terrain: High Objects: Normal Texture: Low Shading: Normal Postprocessing: High Anisotropic: Very High Shadows: High Antialaising: Normal Blood: High VSYNC Forced Off -maxmem=512(not sure if this matters) (Also in nHancer I have tripple buffering enabled and tex. filtering set to performance) Finallly I'd like to post three other known solutions for this problem that didn't work for me, but might work for you: -Disabling Page File -Tweaking the maxmem line -Increasing AGP Aperture size(AGP cards only, my bios wouldn't allow me to change this but give it a try) Hope this helps a few people out. And remember this isn't a full solution(since we have to play with low textures), we should still pressure BIS to fix this problem. Ooops sort of screwed up the title, slightly shouldn't be there.
