nephilim 0 Posted March 4, 2008 soldi modeling one hint tho you might leve such things as screws an bolts for photo shop it saves time an resources just to paint them in photoshop and then blend over with the normal map. the effekt is just about the same for roughly 10 pixels. Messiah 2 Posted March 4, 2008 having a bit of a thing for land rovers myself, that's a beautiful model. I think you've managed to get every little detail perfect, especially the drive system - I spent a couple of hours sitting underneath my land rover trying to work out how to model it. top stuff gents, really really impressed

The intention is to normal map all bolts, nuts, screws and rivets. Cheers to everyone for all the nice comments.
aussie dave 0 Posted March 5, 2008 Good work AAW any time frame for a Beta?
nephilim 0 Posted March 5, 2008 @combo as i said you can create such anormal map for the bolts in photoshop much easier then spending hours doing copy and paste in a 3d app. the nvidia plugin is a pretty nice addition for ps if you want to create such minor detail (like bolts, nuts, scratches). such detail is often way too smal anyway to be captured right by the baked normal map, so it doesnt make any difference from a technical side anywa,y if you create the bolts/nut´s normals from a 3d app or photo chop. photoshopping them will just make it faster and more efficient. dont model everything, theres no need for that... Blue_Flight 0 Posted May 7, 2008 Dear Soldier_X, i could kiss you for this screen No seriously, i always wanted an ASLAV like that since i saw the screens of the VBS version of it and from what i can tell, this looks even better Any more infos about the status of it? Will it be released as stand alone or are you guys making a bigger mod? Sorry if that has already been asked!

TheReddog 0 Posted May 8, 2008 Hey AAW guys, can I make a suggestion. I've been playing the Desert Warfare addon which if I am not mistaken includes the AAW F88's. I just wanted to point out that on your bog standard F88 model the optical sight seems out of scale. The ring in the sight is meant to be the diameter of a standing average height man at 300m, in game it is quite a bit larger than a standing enemy at 300m, makes shooting a real chore past point blank range. Might be something do do with my resolution though, just wanted to make you aware of it though
[xdf]kanga 0 Posted May 8, 2008 yeah we know its already been discussed a couple of pages back. Thanks for compliments Stew and blue. Its still a fair way off from being completed. RL has been a bitch lately. I have a few other models being made but not enough yet to make a AAW pack so it will be released as a stand alone version first.
