b1sh0p 0 Posted April 10, 2007 I'm experimenting with a voice recognition program, so I can speak to my squad instead of hitting keys. For example, to tell 2 to advance, instead of hitting F2, 1, 2, I would simply say into my mic "Two, advance". The problem I'm facing is the voice recognition program I'm using doesn't seem to want to let me assign the F keys (F1, F2, F3, etc) as a macro. This poses a problem when trying to issue orders to my squad. So I'm wondering if there is a way to re map the F keys? I have no doubt it's possible, it's probably just a file I'll have to modify, but I don't know what one. I know it can't be done through the in game keymapper, or at least I haven't found a way to do it.

I have a friend who did exactly what you describe, I'll try & find out what program that was.
b1sh0p 0 Posted April 11, 2007 I'm using a free trial of VAC. I used to know of a completely free program that did the same, but I can't remember it's name. Please respond with the program your bud used. Especially if it can use the F keys in the macros. VAC can't.
Monkwarrior 0 Posted April 11, 2007 This might help. Function keys and CTRL-key are reserved keys in arma. So I tried using a key-remapping tool (many of them are available). In your case you speak X. Your voice recognition program translates to pressing the X-key. The other program remaps the X to F1 and your set. Did this help ? Jack-UK 0 Posted April 11, 2007 Shoot That worked for OFP... Surely the interface will be practically identical.. you could load up the OFP profile and im guessing it will work with ArmA. If not... you can manually record for each function.
