Heatseeker 0 Posted April 8, 2007 Actually DM forgot something important... running engine used to increase radar and a.i. detection . I remember playing OPF and only having the radar HUD icon turn red when an OPFOR tank had its engine working. I believe this would affect a.i. enagement rules (engagement priority). You are less likely to be detected if your engine is off? But you can still use the commanders periscope to scope around..
mr reality 0 Posted April 8, 2007 I'm saying it would be "nice" but that its totally un-necessary since we dont play for anywhere near the length of time which would make APU's an important factor in fuel consumption. Whilst i agree with your statement, wouldn't that also apply to the power supply. I would just prefer it, if i as the commander had the option to keep the tank from starting the engines if i just wanted to traverse my turret. I mean i am in charge of the tank as a commander arn't i.....
HotShot 0 Posted April 8, 2007 Alittle off-topic, but with the M1 in AA: Is there anyway to allow the commander to switch the gunners ammo to SABOT from MG? I'm sure you could do it in Flashpoint but can't get it to work in AA. No reload option nor pressing select Weapon button does anything. Also I tried heatseekers thing about tanks being white on HUD until they turn their engines on and it appears to be true in AA as well. And last point whats up with taking out the interior view? We got 3rd person or Optics.
frederf 0 Posted April 8, 2007 Hold <Commanding Mode> key then press once the <Cycle Weapon> key (default space and F respectively)

frederf 0 Posted April 9, 2007 Nonsense, the M1A1 wasn't made with an interior but anyone who cared to make such a mod would have no trouble making an "interiored" M1A1. There's no such limitation like "armor class vehicles can't have interiors." Stryker is an armor class vehicle and has a fine interior, no difference. Worry not. M9ACE 0 Posted April 9, 2007 As mentioned the M1 series has the ability to manually traverse and elevate the turret and main gun. Â Also, the M1 series can run off of the batteries, it is called the silent watch mode. Sadly, ArmA leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to simulating armored vehicles. Â Perhaps they can be persuaded to also increase the amount of ammo available to the commander's weapon to a more realistic level.

I think all vehicles made By BIS for ARMED ASSAULT should be complete on future patchs. Even if BIS had no time to finish them, they should. Its very strange to use a tank without interior, some have and some don't. Interiors so far are great, M1A1 should also have one. Take your time BIS but complete what is missing Don't let that work for Mod makers.

I meant that its something that would problably require a full replacement of these 4 vehicles (T72, M1A1, BMP-2 and Shilka) with new models and problably reworked proxies too:hm: . In the cargo position of the BMP i can see the driver and if he turns out i see his head sticking thru the closed hatch . Its only 4 vehicles... would it be so hard? edit: While at it, fixing the external view of the T72 commander would also be nice.

BIS should work on the stuff like multiplayer bugs, improved VOIP, and other new features like adjustable sights before they go back to the content. Please leave this work for mod makers, they're pretty good at it. BIS is needed more in working on things mod makers can't do!
