-ZG-BUZZARD 0 Posted May 5, 2007 Yeah, OFP still seems to have the upper hand with regards to editing, which is why I've finally decided to commit myself to try my hand at island creation, especially for this sci-fi scenario... I was thinking of trying my hand at creating some icy landscapes, which would also kinda justify the cool armor and helmets, since if conditions were any better soldiers would fall into temptation of taking all the hot-looking armor helmet off... Sennacherib 0 Posted May 11, 2007 now the 2 flying vehicles are in game: - the big: name - elsh (plane) - the small: name - helel (chopper) they have still some problems (geo lod etc) and the textures are not finished, and the big need a canopy. btw the soldiers is the modified NUT_UUSMC (i have his permission), with a new helmet, and i just changed the color of the uniform. No problemo Armor strength: I was wondering how strong you intend this tank to be. My tank (Geryon) has an armor=2100; value (my intentions was to make the Terran units slow (it is slow for a hover tank), but heavily armored). Firepower: Firepower is heavy with my tank. You know what the capabilities are. Watch out when you define the reloadTime. Even if your damage per shot is only 500 units, if your reloadTime is 1 second it still bashes everything in sight. Mobility: Like I stated previously, the Geryon has a max speed of 90 (km/h?), that's not fast for a scifi hover tank (Eldar grav tank from the Warhammer 40k universe is said to be capable of travelling at 800km/h?). Active defense: I now have an active defense for my tanks. If you shoot a guided missile at it, there's a big chance that the missile will be headed back to your direction, so if your not careful you might get killed by your own missile (I got this idea from Ghost In The Shell, but the script was from Diesel's A-10). (fast reload time) - heavy: more slow but with heavy weapons and a high armor. Sennacherib 0 Posted May 24, 2007 btw, the features of the tank : - a main gun (to destroy the mr duck's tanks ), a rail gun really powerful. - a sort of machinegun (no laser stuff) - a sort of weapon, like the m2a2. (sorry i don't know all these military things) - a heavy armor - propulsion : wheels and tracks, and it won't be fast. btw: i work also on an heavy apc, which will be a sort of moloch-apc, to transport more than 8 soldiers. mr. Duck 0 Posted May 24, 2007 I haven't tried it yet, but here's an idea for your main gun. In case you want a gun powerful enough to demolish the geryon but not that powerful that you send it 50m flying backwards. Maybe make the main cannon fire in a two burst mode? Each shot would not be powerful enough to kill it outright but the second shot would. Btw, one big weakness of the geryon is that it sometimes (at certain moments) tend to flip when you dish out enough firepower (like a missile), this does not destroy the tank but forces the crew to bail out.
